Shocks are one of the most simple tasks to do on a truck. You don't even need to jack up the truck if you have enough room to slide underneath. For a 2006 Silverado, you'll need two ratchets. One ratchet to hold the bolt head and one ratchet to unscrew the nut off the bolt. Take the bottom and top bolt off (2 bolts total) and pull the shock out. Replace with the new shock and put grease or anti seize on your bolts you took off. Put the bolts back on and tighten with your ratchet until it's snug. You can also tighten with a torque wrench set for the appropriate setting for your vehicle (probably 60+ ftlbs without anti seize, less ftlbs with anti seize). DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.
So reminder. Use anti seize on the bolts and do not over tighten the bolts. If your bolts are severely corroded and you need new ones, your best bet is to go to a specialty fastener store that mostly just sells bolts, nuts, etc. Vehicles usually use a certain grade steel (10.9) and size (usually metric such as m14) for the bolts that you may not be able to get at Home Depot/Lowes/Auto parts store. Your other option is trying the dealership for the bolts.
Bilstein 24029025 Front -- I have a 3" lift spindle on the front with no spacers; this is basically a stock setup as the spindles do not change the stock angles
Bilstein 24186742 Rear -- The 2" lift blocks on a 2WD put it right in the range for these, which is similar to the stock 4WD dimensions.
Definitely worth the money.
