Product Description

The REESE Towpower Brakeman IV is a smart electric brake controller that mounts in any direction with no leveling required. Its small, compact design and pre-wired plug-and-play feature allow for quick and easy connection to 2-, 4-, 6- and 8- brake systems. This 100% solid-state electronic includes two separate easy push-button adjustment controls (output and sync) that allow for not only different trailer weights (output) but also the speed of activation (sync) depending on your driving style. For easy-reading, the bright and prominent digital display clearly indicates the output setting, sync setting, brake overload or short connection. Smoother braking starts with a sensing device that determines the voltage power being delivered to the towing vehicle’s brakes and assists in accurately adjusting the trailer brakes for city or highway driving. Safety is key, which is why this controller includes advanced internal circuit protection to help prevent damage and is meant for use on 12-volt negative ground systems only..

    I picked up this brake controller to use in my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee V6 with our new trailer.There were many different types even made by the same company, but I didn't want or need the bigger fancy screens and stuff. Plus this unit can be mount sideways, straight or even upside down if I wanted.. Some other units need to be level and straightThis is our first trailer (7'W x 16'L) and has it's own 7k dual axel electronic braking system. Super easy installation that took maybe 5 to10 minutes to hook up with the separate wire harness made to connect directly under my dash to my Jeep.It was super easy to adjust on the fly while in different driving situations, like up and down mountains and also for stop and go traffic in the city.You can easily adjust strength and also responsiveness to when I hit the brake pedal.I also enjoy having the finger lever right there by my knee, so that I can apply just the trailer's brakes without even using my Jeeps brakes to slow down at times.
