This wheel chock is big, big, big and heavy, heavy, heavy. This is the sort of thing you see in loading docks with semi-trucks. It's super thick, heavy, reinforced rubber and the metal handle that goes through the entire width of the chock lends it incredible strength. The nuts on the handle are welded on so they will never work loose, therefore the chock will never come apart.
If you are at all worried about safety when working under your car with one end up on jack stands, or if you park your car on the side of the Trango Towers (look it up, steepest mountains in the world), you can be confident this chock will keep your vehicle stable and in place. OK, not really, the Trango Towers is NOT a place to park your car - be warned!!!!
OK, anyway, love it, it's great, I'd buy more if I needed them but one will do the job.
Why did I purchase one in the first place? Because, in case you weren't aware, the cheap orange plastic chocks have been known to slip especially on the typical rather smooth concrete driveway on which the DIY/shadetree mechanic tends to work. I think safety is worth the investment.
You will not be disappointed.
Put the chocks in place, give them a little kick to wedge them in, and get to work! Seriously, this chock is built to last. The handle is super convenient too! I would wager that they are perfect for any car or truck. They work perfectly on my family's 2004 Cadillac, 1999 Mercury Sable, 2003 Dodge Dakota, 2003 Ford F-150, and 2007 Saturn Vue.
Don't trust your life to any other chocks -- these are MUST-HAVES!
Only tip - order these separately from other items. I'm not lowering my review due to this - I love them. Perhaps it was a Friday at 5:00, or someone wasn't thinking, but for some reason they were packed together in a box (mind you they are quite heavy for chocks), then packed in a great big box where their box could move around and beat against the other items. Fortunately nothing was damaged in shipment. Oh, and as one might expect, they smell like tires, which they are of course made of - perfectly fine for your driveway, but perhaps you don't want other items arriving with that smell.
