About the Manufacturer

In the early 1980s, the only quality playground sets available for backyard play were very expensive, pre-cut wooden play sets. Very few, if any other alternatives were available at that time. Swing-N-Slide, established in 1985 as America's first do-it-yourself wooden playground manufacturer, has achieved its vision of bringing compliant, fun and value-packed products to both the residential and commercial playground markets. As one of the leading consumer playground equipment companies in the United States, Swing-N-Slide designs, manufactures and distributes do-it-yourself play sets to home centers, hardware stores and play set retailers across the nation. Using its expertise in thermoforming and metal fabrication, Swing-N-Slide manufactures every play set with quality and pride.

Broke in less than 2 years
Wood was not sealed for outdoors. After less than 2 years (several months ago), one piece broke where it had the hole for the rope. Fortunately, our kids were not hurt because it was one close to the ground. However, if you're looking for something that lasts, this is not it.

Just ordered our 2nd one the first lasted 5 years out in Ohio weather all year. Some of the wood eventually snapped from being weathered. We bolted ours to swing set then staked into ground and kids love it.

Kids have been playing on it for a few months now and love it. Wood seems sturdy and rope seems like it will last. I will do a follow up review after it's been weathered a bit to see how it holds up. If your somewhat of a handyman you can make this work for any swing set easy to follow directions. Great product would buy again.

Good climbing rope for grandchildren.. it will however tend to start stretching as kids climb on it so I installed a 2x4 from ground to top on both sides and pulled the ladder sides up fairly taut to the boards to try and reduce chance of a child losing footing and possibly twisting with head in loop.. but thats just me..

The product was as described, well made and easy to install. Be sure to read the other reviews for the dimensions, but otherwise be prepared to run this thing up to about 8' high. I used some long plastic stakes that I got at the large home improvement store and used them to secure the bottom. The primary hardware was included and quality. The kids (6 and 3) can't get enough of it!

Overall a great net. I used it in a DIY project and have two suggestions for future costumers. Lower beam: drill 1/2 inch holes for the loose ends to put through the lower beam. I really have good tools but with the suggested 3/8 inch holes the hole is as wide as the climbing net cord is and I had to widen it. It just makes it easier using 1/2 inch and doesn't do much/any harm to the wood beam. Secondly don't tighten the screws at the top of the net. Just make them tight enough so you can pull the net straight and fasten the lower ends. Then fully tighten the screws at the top end to increase the tension in the net even more. I also added some washers as seen on the picture not included in the set.

Very please with this cargo net. Hung it up on a climber I built that is connected to a rock climbing wall. The net is not perfect as the rods on the bottom were not quite level, but it doesn't hindered use and my kids love it. It seems well built and came with all the needed hardware and clear install instructions. You do need to anchor the bottom ( I used a 4x4 buried in rubber mulch). Secure and not tacky looking. Fun for kids. Its a winner.
