covers an amazing array of the nuances of football
I ran across this looking for some two+ person travel games. If you just start by looking at the directions, you'll go mad. Just start rolling and looking up every roll. We struggled to figure out the scorecard so we bailed on that and just wrote down the play results. Once you **get** the logic, just start using what you know of football to work out what the dice mean. Get sacked, roll the yellow die to see how much yardage you lost and take away a run-play die because that's a loss of down - OH. The only complaint we have is that on the possession die it would be helpful if the O and D were a bit less alike, especially in a campground picnic table.Once we figured out how the dice worked, the score sheets made a lot more sense. They also made the math easier. My husband made fun of me for being "1st and 10 at the 87 yard line".It was really worth the time to figure out because we've had a blast playing. I think that what impresses me the most is how much of actual football they've worked out with the dice. Perhaps when I rolled a safety when I was on the 50 yard line wasn't the most realistic, but they actually had worked out that you roll the kicking die from the 20 and not the end zone like a free kick. It would also be crazy helpful in real football to know ahead of time what the yardage was going to be on all of the downs but who cares, it's a really fun game and any more complicated and it would be just too much.If you don't know anything about football though you are going to be lost. On the other hand, if you wanted to teach someone the basic rules of football this would be a good way to do it. I should apologize to my niece-in-law because we got so excited about it we ordered one for my nephew that should be there tomorrow.that's all I have to share,Kathryn Bishop

It’s mostly luck, but it’s still a lot of fun! I play with my 8 year old son. Both games have been really close and exciting. Turnovers, big plays, sacks, long field goals. Totally unpredictable. The only thing is there is no instruction if you get a sack and then roll a hand or an offsetting penalty on the yellow die. We just decided that the hand is 5 yards and the offsetting is a reroll.
Our last game was 30-28. He won on a last second field goal!
