    This is the second rocket style toy my son has gotten. The rocket system is great. The foot pump is secure and has a good seal with the tube. The rockets themselves are okay. I like that the whole thing is foam because the last rocket toy we had my son would step on the rockets that were plastic and broke them all. The only con is that the blue fins on the rockets are falling off pretty easily.

    Bought this for my kiddos between the ages of 2-6. It was a hit, everyone enjoyed taking turns and trying to see who can get it to go the furthest and highest. So far it’s holding up well as long as you don’t loose a rocket on the roof!

    Some of these stump rockets aren’t able to be shot straight up but this one can be which we wanted. The stomper itself isn’t the best of quality and I doubt it’ll hold up long because my kids are little but it goes super far and they’re having fun. Can’t beat the price either.

    I bought this 14 months ago for our 20 month old grandson on a hunch that even at that age, he may enjoy the excitement of seeing Nani make the rocket fly. Since we are vigilant in his playtime, caution about small parts ie: the toy's wing nut, aren't an issue. But unmonitored play is not an option for a toddler.
    Actually, our only issue was to make sure he wouldn't attempt to chew the foam rockets. He did make one large hole in a rocket but never again when he realized that rocket wouldn't fly any more.

    My intent was to stomp the rocket launcher for him. I got to do it once. Our then tiny guy watched it go up up up. When it landed, he toddle raced to go pick it up. When he got back to the launcher, I expected him to want to see me repeat the performance. Instead he leaned way down, examined the launcher, straightened up and - and since he wasn't yet much of a talker yet, he simply stomped his foot. Message received. I showed him - let him - helped him, push the rocket onto the air tube. His first stomp attempt only got the rocket halfway off the tube. He didn't have the aim or power. I showed him how to jump on it with two feet instead. Successful launches grew more frequent. On occasion, he'd let me stomp too!

    It grew into a great success, in several ways. While it wasn't the only toy he played with, it was one he faithfully played with, and still plays with, every time he stays with us...(every other weekend)! He's now turning 3 and we've had 14 months of this toy being launched, stepped all over, dunked in the pool, stuck in trees, and tugged away from his same aged cousin. Since we live in warm Phoenix, that's a lot of abuse, and adult with child FUN.. And while he couldn't really talk well when he first got it, if anyone asked him what he was going to do at Nani's house, he would stomp his foot and smile. It drew smiles from everyone else too.

    If you are reading this review, then you're probably looking hard for a toy that has the big three elements. Kid appeal for the long haul. Durability. Price. But add in the kid and adult bonding fun factor... and this becomes a grand slam.

    A tip or two. Plan on buying an extra bag of rockets down the road. They really fly and if the wing nut that holds the trajectory tube in place loosens (it does) the rocket can end up in someone's gutter or trees or In the mouth of the neighbor's bulldog.

    Note: The more deluxe version of this isn't as good a flyer, has more hard plastic and our little guy returned almost immediately to his junior version.

    What a bonding experience it's been for all of us.

    It’s been 7 years since the first purchase. He’s nine now, and we’ve replaced it twice. He isn’t into it by himself now, but when his pals are over? They get very competitive. They take it to the park so it doesn’t disappear into a neighbors yard or solar panels. It’s just plain fun.

    My 4 year old son loves this toy. My nephew loves it. For my niece its cool for a few jumps and then she is ready to go make mud pies. I think this toy is great, except that we really don't have a good place to play with it. Our house is small... and this toy really needs one of those big McHouses with high ceilings if you want to play with it inside. Even though my son thinks its hilarious that the rocket (all foam) hits the ceiling and bounces off to some unknown place in the house, its a bit nerve wracking for me. So we take it outside. But our back yard has some trees -- not a forest, but just a maple, a Japanese maple, and some spruce trees in the flatter area of the back lawn... and we really need a bigger open space to play with this toy. These trees are not super tall, so when the rocket shoots up, sometimes its hard to see where it went (though most of the time it just goes straight up and straight back down). The kids don't seem to care, they just laugh and squeal, but I am worried the rockets will be lost, so I inevitably bring it back inside, thinking that the kids really need to be older to take care of it. Also, if the Stomp Rocket is brought out, I know I will be needed to help put the stand back together over and over. It is a flimsy stand, and though it seems to lock together well, somehow it keeps being knocked or bumped and falls apart again. The stand falls over easily, too. It just doesn't weigh enough. Again, the kids don't care, but it is a bother.

    And a word about durability. My nephew is the rough one, and within minutes of my putting this toy and its rockets outside for the kids to play with, he had ripped all the fins off the foam rockets "to make them faster". I could not think of any glue that could be used on those materials (though maybe I am just not thinking hard enough), so we bought another set. So if your child is one of those take-it-apart-to-see-how-it-works kinds, I am betting the fins will be off in minutes for you, too. That said, I think the rockets will shoot perfectly well without fins... its not like they fly far anyhow, since they weigh virtually nothing.

    So in conclusion, the boys love this thing. I am mot so enthusiastic about it. Maybe I will bring it back out tomorrow and just leave them with it outside, and see what happens. Maybe the rockets won't be stripped of fins and and shot into the trees. We'll see.
