Magical Kingdoms: A Disney Princess AdventureEvery day, kids have more to explore when they reach their daily 60-minute activity goals, inspiring them to do their very best. With you as their helper, your child will unfold new adventures and explore magical kingdoms alongside Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Mulan and Rapunzel. They’ll help Rapunzel and Flynn Rider escape Mother Gothel, save the Emperor with Mulan and even explore the Cave of Wonders with Jasmine. The more they meet — and exceed — their activity goals, the more of the story they’ll get to see. |
Interact with a Magical KingdomIn addition to uncovering more adventures with the princesses, kids can gain access to fun games and more. Meeting their daily activity goals gives kids more chances to play the tap challenge game. Their fingers will be flying as they race against the clock to make as many matches and rack up as many points as they can before time runs out. Meeting their daily activity goal gives kids more chances to play fun games and collect gems to reveal their very own kingdom on the adventure map. To get more gems and more chances to play the tap challenge, kids will need to keep logging those active minutes! |
The Parental Personal AssistantThe mobile app isn’t just for the kids to enjoy. Parents can use it to manage the vívofit jr. 2 fitness tracker. View activity, responsibilities, sleep, chore data and more after syncing with compatible Apple, Android and Amazon Fire Tablet devices. Invite the whole family to compete in a daily step challenge, assign tasks and chores, designate a reward virtual coin value, and find out how many coins each child has. Those in-app coins can be redeemed by your kiddos for agreed-upon rewards. It’s all controlled right from your device. |

Rewards, Reminders and ResponsibilitiesKids will see just how fun and rewarding household chores can be. With vívofit jr. 2, parents assign chores and schedule alerts from the smartphone app, and kids’ bands show them their new jobs to do. These can be set up to recur weekly or even daily — perfect for children who need reminders. And for youngsters who procrastinate, schedule alerts in the parent app so vívofit jr. 2 reminds them to finish homework, brush their teeth and more. The alert will remind them with an icon what they’re supposed to be doing. Then, the child can start the task timer on the device so they know how long they have left. |
Friendly Step ChallengesFriendly competition comes to the playground and the backyard. Toe-to-Toe step challenges let kids sync with nearby friends to challenge each other (one-on-one challenge) — or even themselves — to timed step competitions. Once complete, they’ll see their total number of steps during the challenge and find out if they triumphed over their friends or beat their own personal bests. Your kids can access the app to view results from completed challenges and show off their latest victories. Parents can get in on the fun, too. Download the Toe-to-Toe Connect IQ app to a compatible device to challenge your kids to a step competition. |
Stay Active TogetherLink up with your Garmin Connect friends and family — and even your kids’ playground pals. When you connect with other families in the vívofit jr. app, they can be part of your weekly step challenges. Create custom step and active minute challenges, then invite participants from your list of connections. You can even leave comments for each other in the app while the challenge is active. Access Even More Fun vívofit jr. 2 lets your kids get their hands on more styles and adventures. All they need is a new band to open up a new world of adventures. What’ll it be next? Track activity and engage in galactic adventures with a Star Wars themed band? Show creativity and style with a Minnie Mouse band? Or will your kid show off their Marvel Avengers band and join in adventures that let them save the day like a true hero? It’s up to your kid. |

Things we like about this watch:
- Chore incentives are great.
- Our boys can start "toe to toe" challenges that keep them active and having fun.
- I can set reminders for my son while he is at school. For example, I was going to pick him up 30 minutes later on a Tuesday so, the night before, I was able to set a reminder on his watch so he didn't forget.
- They can wear it while they swim.
- The sleep tracking is pretty spot on.
- Overall, this watch keeps my boys moving and having fun and it has been great product for them. The battery life on my 7 year old sons watch lasted almost one year exactly to the date. Battery replacement was easy and it is still going strong.
Things that could be better:
-The ability to add reminders to the watch when you don't physically have the watch nearby so you don't have to "sync" the watch after each change.
-GPS tracking would be great to watch kids get to/from school safely.
-The ability to have both watches on one smart phone. For example, my husband keeps my oldest sons app on his phone and I keep our younger sons on mine. In order to see my older sons app, I have to re-sync it to my phone, which kicks my younger sons app off until I re-sync it. Having the ability to have multiple watches on one device would be really helpful.
I found out after communicating with the Garmin customer service that the battery the watch comes with start after it gets assembled so while sitting in a warehouse or store shelf it’s wasting battery. I was told the watch I bought in July was produced back in December so it totally makes sense that it died at the end of November because it’s been a year since... and that made total sense...
While I do believe they do need to improve how the watch is packaged up like including an extra battery to replace so you are guaranteed a full battery life of 1 year, the solution was the replacement of the battery... I just ordered a 5 battery pack on Amazon for around $5 and switching it out was super easy... the black console pops out since the band is made out of silicon for this purpose. Unscrew some screws and you have an access to the battery... I did that and the watch came back to life!!!
So if you already have this watch but died a year after and thinking about having to buy a whole new watch, you know you don’t have to do that! :-)
I will update as I’m waiting to hear back from Garmin regarding the issue we are having...
My daughter loves this watch and have it on her wrist everyday and it was working wonderfully for 4 months but one day we are walking our dogs and she had hit her activity goal the watch gave her a notification celebrating she completed her goal but the the goal screen would not go away and kept flashing... the only button the watch comes with was not responding and trying to sync the problem away using the app did not work so I sent Garmin an email... the next morning I looked at the watch and the screen has gone black and dead, it won’t turn on even when I push the button.
I get the email from Garmin support but she suggests I remove the battery in the back to see if it will resets but I do not see any opening to get to the “battery” and I’m pretty sure she is not paying attention to which watch I’m contacting about...
So I reply back and tell her I don’t see a way to get to the battery and also attached some pictures of the watch so she can see I can’t open this watch up to take out the battery and this is where we are at...
I really liked the idea of not having to charge the watch for a year but then this kind of problem happens and if the Garmin customer service is a pain to deal with then this is not worth the money or time... my daughter can’t track her activity and who knows how long it will take until we can get a replacement so she can enjoy the watch again...
Will keep you posted.
