I highly recommend this seat, for anyone who gigs as much as I do.
Try it. I doubt you'll be disappointed.
This is it.
After 5-6 months of use at home and on gigs, it’s a comfortable and easy-to-adjust seat, with also-adjustable footrests. Built like a tank, too.
But carrying it is not for the faint of heart. I can handle it, but it can be a little clumsy; I do wish the seat could be broken down, or dissembled a bit, to make carrying/loading easier. It sucks up a bit of space in the back of my Explorer, and I’ve learned to live with that, in exchange for the sturdiness and comfort.
I like this seat a lot. I’d like it more if it were a bit less bulky and inflexible.
Pro:
-Comes nearly assembled (took 3 minutes to attach the back rest which is not necessary for the seat to function
-Padding seems adequate and is reasonably comfortable (Just got them so not sure how durable)
-Aesthetically pleasing (IMO)
-One pin and the seat folds flat
-light weight but also reasonably sturdy
-Mostly comfortable in terms of playing *(see below)
Con:
-The height is not adjustable. This is not a put your feet on the floor seat, it's more of a stool with a backrest. May be too high for some shorter folks (I'm 6'2" and feels a little high for me with one foot on the floor).
-*The foot rest is only big enough for one foot (especially when the guitar stand is folded up). I found my back was sore very quickly with one foot on the floor and one foot on the rest. However, by adding a step stool or something about 10" off the ground for your other foot, the problem was solved. Again, this is individual preference and YMMV. For 70 bucks, I'm ok with making my own separate foot stool.
-The stand for the guitar is not the most sturdy thing. I suspect most will still just use a stand that will better secure their instrument.
Hope this helps someone with their purchase.

I have have no issues nor do I have any complaints about this chair.
1. Though it folds up, it's not really that compact because the back rest has a big "L" shape bracket that doesn't fold. Really? They couldn't have engineered that?
2. It could use a nice zippered case to put it in. Again, you'd have to make the back rest fold.
3. Seat isn't big enough unless your small. I feel like as though I'm going to fall off at any given moment. And the foam cushion is a little too stiff.
4. Foot rest is too narrow. The pegs need to be able to telescope outward on each side and also adjust up or down.
Lastly, the built-in guitar stand gets in the way and is a tripping hazard. This is worse part of it. I took mine off. Also, when you rest your guitar in it, there's no way to secure the neck, so easy to knock over the guitar. I suggest just eliminating it as most of us use proper guitar stands anyway.
So there you have it. Keep on looking until Gator gets it right. And when/if they do, then perhaps they'll have a winner.
Also, I was nervous with my acoustic guitar in the stand so I would push the chair to see how tippy it was. It was not tippy at all. I really did think it was going to tip over super easily with the weight. Folds up easy (not flat of course but enough to tuck behind the seat in my car just fine). Worth it for the 80 bucks I paid.
