A single dad trying to find his way away from his career, a babysitter with too much on her shoulders, and the adorable nine-month-old who brings them together.

Dr. Parker Flagg needs help with his daughter, Grace. After handling raising her by himself while teaching physics, he’s reached his limits. He finds himself back home on Palmar Island, trying to get his feet back under himself with the help of his mother and the small southern community he grew up in.

When a friend asks him to help out at the local high school, he agrees under one condition. He needs a reliable nanny to care for Grace.

Robin Warren hasn’t had the easiest upbringing. She’s making the best of it, taking any job she can to cobble up enough money to attend the local community college part time. When she hears about a babysitting job that allows her to continue her class, she jumps at the chance.

What neither of them expected was the instant attraction they felt. Maneuvering the fine line between professional relationship and budding love is hard enough in a small southern town where gossip runs rampant. But when Parker’s ex-wife shows up out of the blue and wants back into Parker and Grace’s life, all bets are off.

This story could have had more stars. Considering the writer notes that she has four beta readers, I was amazed at how many errors there were. Few examples: if someone didn’t…went (go) to pick up their medication; she could (couldn’t) care less; apostrophes in plural words, maybe he displaced (misplaced) it; it still doesn’t proof (prove); I think…I (me) picking up all the slack; he got his metal (medal); don’t look a gifted (gift) horse in the mouth, etc. If things like this don’t distract you, you may enjoy the book. It’s clean and cute.

This is a really good book about a man and wife that had a child. The wife did not want the child but the father did. He didn't know that she had not terminated the baby. When the baby was born she dropped the baby off with the father. He didn't know anything about raising a newborn child. He had some help from others, then decided to get a nanny for the child. This made things much easier for the father. I loved the way the book ended!

I really loved this from start to finish it. The characters Parker, his baby girl Grace and Robin the Nanny grab you from the first chapter. The story is such a breath of fresh air. I love all of the books based in Palmer Island but this really stands out for me. You have characters visit from past books, a sweet story that makes you feel like coming home. What can be better than that! Susanne Ash has a home run with this one. I very highly recommend this book and the author. I was gifted this ARC copy but the thoughts expressed are mine and mine alone. I loved it!!
