While browsing bookstore shelves as a teenager, Lo discovered the erotic writings of Anaïs Nin and A.N. Roquelaure. Certain her mother would not approve, Lo smuggled the books home and squirreled them away in the most likely of places: under her bed. Late at night, she delved into the sensual worlds both writers created.

As a co-ed studying biochemistry and genetics at Texas A&M University, Lo dabbled in creating naughty tales to entertain her friends. Study for a midterm or pen a deliciously dirty story to delight her small band of fans? Not surprisingly, Lo is now on an extended sabbatical from college.

Luckily, Lo stumbled onto the world of erotic romance publishers. She realized there were other readers and writers who loved and craved breathtaking romance with the spiciest of love scenes. She took a chance and submitted her first novella. The rest is history.

    OMG! This was a very hot, steamy, romantic, beautiful love story. Lolita Lopez is a totally new author to me, and I am HOOKED! I was actually surprised by how much I loved Vicious and Hallie. I connected with Hallie from the start. She is smart, brave, determined, and not at all timid. Vicious was all of that and more tender than I was expecting. Their romance couldn't have been more beautiful! I loved the way that Vicious cared for Hallie from the beginning. You could see his thoughtfulness in the first few chapters, and it only continued to grow. I was swept away with all of it. The story has beautiful world building, wonderful characters (that I can't wait to read more of) and the writing is amazing. I am a fan for life! I was also very pleased to see that there are more books available in this series.

    Let me start off by saying, I don't care for bondage or slave / master intimacies, but luckily the author didn't go overboard. And even with all my quirks, I can't resist the story of a harden warrior who finds a woman to soften him. Both main characters had the right amount of emotional feelings for each other to keep the book interesting and wanting more. The heroine is too good to be true...even with all the hardships in her life; she rescued others from their hardships. She was a real peace fighter or giver. I also didn't believe the part in giving punishment (whipping, caning) to someone to override their feelings of guilt for something they did and perceived as wrong. I don't see how that would work; suddenly you're absolved of guilt because you're in pain. So with that said I really enjoyed the book and will read the next one in the series when it's released (Menace's story).

I purchased it again and kept thinking the book was familiar. Sure enough I'd bought it back in 2014 when it was published through Ellora's Cave. I now have 2 copies of it- the good news is back in 2014 it was over $7 and now it's a much more appropriate $.99)
    This is a solid Sci-fi spicy read. I've been reading quite a few in this genre lately and this book so far has been the best. It is well written, there are few editing errors and the characters were wonderful. I loved the male character Viscious and how his love of Hallie changed him. The love scenes are hot yet very emotional as well. There is a deep connection between the two characters. Hallie is my favorite female character that I've read about in quite a while. She was intelligent, caring, brave, confident and kick-a**. I loved that she could be submissive in the bedroom but still be her own women. I can't wait to read more in this series and I've found a new favorite author. I was excited to read on the author's website that she now has the rights of the books back from Ellora's cave and she will be completing the series!

    This is a solid romance with the fun of a bride hunt, warriors, and adpating to a new culture. The heroine is wonderful. She thinks for herself and is slowing freeing herself of an oppressive society, however she recognizing the hero's kindness and lets herself fall in love. The hero is kind and thoughtful and alpha which is a great combination. The hero is simply great.

    These is an issue with thrown in erotica. There is a party that really seemed not needed and out of character even for the person who demanded the couple attendance. There is also FF play that also seemed dumped in.

    The BSDM elements were light and again not fully needed.

    I am really looking forward to the rest of this series!

This book may not be for everyone; however, for those who like the concept of being captured, and at the mercy of the man, then this book is for you. The world that is presented to the reader is extraordinary. The beliefs of the Vicious and the men are very archaic, but believable. Despite their strong way of thinking, the female still stays true to herself. Please note that there is something called a gentleman's party that only men mated can attend. It is basically a wicked kind of party. Anything goes. Some of the scenes leading to this, and during may be a little too intense for some, but it doesn't overpower the book. I really hope the rest of the series can come out soon.

    A very enjoyable read. It was much more detailed, heart rending and interesting than I expected having read some of the reviews. I thought that Vicious and Haille had superb chemistry and their interactions and dialogue reflected this. The erotic scenes were fun, hot and often romantic. I liked the other characters and enjoyed the twists and the of the plot. I'm looking forward to reading book 2 very much.
