Groaning, I shifted into my human form.

My very naked human form.

The two shifters chuckled. The biggest one spoke again. "I didn't think it was possible, but you look worse than you smell."

"And I didn't think it was possible to see a monkey's ass on someone's face, but there you are!"

He balled his fingers into a fist and swung it at my cheek. I easily ducked and rammed my closed hand into his gut. He expelled a fast breath, gripping his stomach.

His short, fat friend laughed out loud. "She just got shit on you, Terrence!"

My head snapped his direction. "There's plenty of that to go around."

He raised his hands and stepped back.

"Let's get this over with, shall we?" I held out my hand in his direction. "Give me your jacket."

"No way. You'll get crap all over it."

"I will anyway when I jump on top of you and choke you out in seconds."

Tubby looked at Terrence for backup, but Terrence, who had finally straightened from me hitting him in the stomach, motioned with his hand. "Just give it to her. We can beat her up later. Boss is waiting."

I huffed. Clearly, Terrence hadn't learned his lesson.

As soon as the jacket was wrapped around me and zipped up good, I stepped into the clearing.

Don't bend over. Don't bend over. Flashing my cooter to a pack of wolf shifters probably wasn't a good idea. The cool breeze gusting up my nether regions would be a good reminder.

I walked out of the woods and froze. My eyes zeroed in on the man standing tall in the center of the dangerous shifters. The man I was destined to kill...

    I love urban fantasy. I remember when the only Urban Fantasy books were the Anita Blake series and I don't want to go on about how they disappointed me.

    So! I saw an advertisement on Facebook and decided to give this a shot, and I'm glad that I did.

    It was a fun page turner that read really quickly. Don't expect high quality literature here, but it's decently written, the characters are fun, and the book doesn't take itself too seriously. Sure there are high stakes and Briar often puts herself in peril (which she can get out of, thank you very much Mr. Romantic Interest Luke), but she's a fun heroine and narrator.

    If you're a fan of urban fantasy and kick ass heroines, I'd give this a solid recommendation.

I can't leave out the hint of Greek mythology with supernatural creatures; wolf shifters, vampires, and witches.

    What the story is about:
    The main character Briar ( I just loved that name) comes to town after two bad guys who killed her family in front of her when she was a child. She has been searching for them for revenge. As she tries to get close enough to kill them, she will find unlikely allies that have the same goal as her but with different reasons. She has brass balls along with a unique super power that she keeps hidden from others. She has been alone for some time, but she will find herself with others that's makes her want to protect them.
    I would recommend this book to readers who love a strong, sassy, and hilarious heroine that appeals to that wild imagination inside each of us.
    I've already purchased the next one so I can enjoy the wild ride that these authors have written. So hold on to your seat and get to reading this story.

    This was one of those random books I chose to take up a slot in my Kindle Unlimited library, but unlike so many others I've chosen that were either underwhelming or didn't get read at all before I swapped them for something else, I started this book immediately. And I am so glad I did! Briar, our kickass protagonist, is full of snark, sass, foul language, and absolute hilarity. And let's not forget, she is an absolute, earned-never-given badass. The supporting characters complement Briar so well, even in opposite ways, that the relationships in this book are fluid perfection. The story is fairly fast-paced and in-your-face, but even so, there are things that the authors hint at early on that isn't outright explained, so us readers aren't just keeping up with Briar's daily life. There is a massive yet, subtle, undertone of much going on under the surface of the town and it's supernatural occupants. I have already read the second book, and I can tell you now, it doesn't disappoint! This series is quickly becoming one of my favorites of the year!

I stuck with it, and I'm happy to say, The storyline picks up and the action increases--I enjoyed the second half of A Shifter's Curse immensely. The book could use another proofread, with odd errors like: bawled=balled, branded=brandished. I noted a few areas when the grammar was off also, which made me pause a few times, but not enough to wreck my enjoyment.

    I had no idea what I was going to read about when I started. Some of the language bothered me even though it is used every day by many of today's people. BUT the story held me bound completely. I honestly couldn't put the book down. Luckily I read fast because I spent the whole day with this book in my hands. I read throughout the entire day. I even had to read while my Kindle was plugged in be a use I was unable to put the book down to recharge. I am not sure if I loved the book, I can only say I felt the power of the words so strongly that I had to know where the story went next. Raven Steele's words.captivated me like a witch's spell held me captive.
