The color is mostly a rich emerald green & the color doesn't bleed at all. ( I got some richly-colored hot pink stones at a store once and the pink bled out when I had to soak dirt off them.) I make cement stepping stones which require pieces that contrast with the cement color & hold up to weather - and have flat sides: these stones seem to fit the bill. Fingers crossed that the sun won't fade the color.

The package of stones is lovely but really very small. It doesn't really feel like a pound, but I'm sure it must be. I bought a 3 graduated vase set on Amazon and am filling 1/2 of each w/pumice stone and wanted to do the top half w/these stones and a succulent on top. But I would need 2-3 packages for each vase of these stones which is just too expensive. So I've bought some blue glass flat vase fillers on Amazon and I'll mix them w/these stones and will try to get these stones on the outside. They are jewelry-level quality which they do say, so that's obviously at a higher level than vase fillers. I'm also going to sprinkle some on our table runner bec they are really so beautiful.

If it's a plant that requires a lot of water make sure to rinse THOROUGHLY in hot water before use as whatever dye they used will seep and could affect plant roots. Soaking for a day or two will likely do the job as well. Probably okay for infrequently watered succulents with a quick lukewarm rinse to preserve colour. As you can see even, after cleaning off dye they're still pretty, just a bit less vivid (I prefer a more muted palette so it worked out).
