Without doubt, the best books I have ever read. From the moment I started reading the first book I couldn't stop until I had finished. A book has never made me cry and laugh to myself as much, before I read Noughts & Crosses. Amazing! I felt personally connected to the story and could not stop reading . . brilliant style of writing. The twists throughout the triligy keep each book as exciting as the last.

What an interesting book. The story was full of suspense and I kept holding my breathe. I honestly didn't see the end coming. Beautifully written.

This book is an engaging and enjoyable read. The subject matter is treated with the delicacy and tact it deserves, and the writing never seems to drag. Occasionally the plot gets bogged down with all of its intricacies, but the ending wraps them all up cleanly and to utter satisfaction.

I will definitely be reading this novel again. A good book to pick up if you have a long wait ahead of you that you'd like to make fly by.

Great book! Very thought provoking. My 9th grader had to read this book for school. I read it, too. We are a transracial family and it was great for my son to hear comments from classmates who had not thought through a lot of racial issues that are part of his daily life. The sequel is very good, too.

I bought this to listen to in the car. It was great until a boy with a deep accent began to speak and I couldn’t understand what he was saying. For situations like this I would use captions or read along, but for listening alone I couldn’t understand the accent.

Loved this book. It is a simple, easy read, and underneath is really about love, racism, class & intolerance. I wasn't sure about it at first, thought it might be meant for a younger audience, but once I got into it I couldn't put it down & kept me thinking when I had finished it. Give it a try!

Had to keep re checking myself while reading this book. Funny how our train of thought is molded at such a young age and needs a book like this to stop and rethink our very own existence. Will definitely be reading the rest of the trilogy.

5.0 out of 5 stars My FAVOURITE BOOK! 😍

Malorie Blackman is an artist, I am absolutely obsessed with this book, the dystopian society that Blackman creates is such an empowering, refreshing and relatable experience. The book tells the tale of apartheid in reverse, with Caucasian people as the ‘oppressed’ and Black people as the ‘oppressors’, the main protagonists love story is realistic, slow burn and very interesting to watch develop. I can’t rave enough about this book, please just buy. You won’t regret it. It’s an experience and an emotional, thought provoking one at that!

Malorie Blackman has created a brilliant portrayal of reversed racism. In this modern Romeo and Juliet story, the stakes are high. Characters have everything to lose and play for. Optimism turns to violence as hearts get broken and lives destroyed. By the end you'll be desperate for society to change.

Interesting read, good character development and strong themes. Enjoyable to read. Although unsure if I am enamoured enough to continue this series.
