The key ingredient that sets FODMATE apart from any other enzyme supplements you will find is inulinase. As of this review, there is only one other consumer product in existence that contains inulinase, but it is not available on Amazon. Inulinase and inulinases attach to fructose and fructans, transforming them into sucrose.
Because of my SIBO infection, I used to get painful bloating, hot flashes, and diarrhea, whenever I ate even the smallest amount of fructose or fructans. I couldn't eat any fruit, garlic, tomatoes, broccoli, etc. It was truly depressing. But FODMATE has changed all that.
For the last week, I have been taking FODMATE before every meal that contains my trigger foods. All of my SIBO symptoms have totally disappeared. As long as I am using FODMATE, the pain and diarrhea I suffered through before just don't happen.
If you know that your own digestive problems are related to fructose and fructans, I highly recommend that you give FODMATE a try!
IMPORTANT NOTE: In my personal experience, FODMATE works best when I open up the capsules, and sprinkle the contents onto my first bite of a meal. I assume this is because it takes the guess work out of knowing how long it will take the pill casings to dissolve in stomach acid, which must happen before the enzymes can start to mix with food. The taste is bearable, and is mostly a bland starchy flavor.
