It’s a beautiful book with beautiful pictures. As for recipes- I have only tried one and that’s the pumpkin cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. The cake itself is delicious and perfection, but cooking at the shortest time (15 minutes out of 15-20 minutes) slightly burnt my cakes at an oven temperature of 400f. I’ve never seen cupcakes cooked at 400f before so maybe turn the temperature lower to 350-375 or bake at 13-14 minutes instead. The frosting itself looked wayyyyy too sweet! Thank God I didn’t put all the sugar in at once and also had another package of cream cheese in the fridge! The recipe called for 3 1/4c of powdered sugar for 3/4c cream cheese! That is a whole crap load of sugar!! I used 2c powdered sugar, 2 package of cream cheese and proceeded with rest of recipe. That gave me the perfect amount of sweet and tart. It would’ve been a disaster of diabetes overload following that frosting to a T. The walnut praline as a homemade sprinkle was delicious as is!

Bottom line: judging from the frosting with sugar overload- I am afraid most recipes especially the frosting might be way too sweet, so you might have to play around with ingredients and hope for best!

11/29/2019 Ok. So I totally forgot that the book states on the front cover that it’s “nutritious, delicious recipes for everyday baking.” This book is NOT all that nutritious considering Mich used normal table sugar and all purpose flour not honey/maple or almond/coconut type flours. For example- the only reason why the pumpkin cupcakes were considered healthy and nutritious to her was because it included pumpkin purée, which is part of your daily dose of veggies from what she is saying. But the whole recipe aside from that is just normal unhealthy ingredients such as table sugar and all purpose flour, regular full fat cream cheese, and eggs. I’m glancing through the whole book and this is like a normal non-healthy super fattening cookbook that I would NEVER consider nutritious.. Just saying. Just in case someone bought this thinking, “Yay! Healthy recipes!” No. No it’s not. Anyhow- it doesn’t matter to me as long as it’s good and for the most part accurate in measurement. Lol.

Very happy with this book. Great information on substituting in healthier ingredients. Mich has done a great job. That said it's still cake. Moderation and proper portion sizes should be followed.

I absolutely love baking and was looking for a “healthier” type baking book. This ticks all the boxes! Much Turner is world class and knows exactly what she is talking about! I was looking for nutritious, delicious things that I would enjoy baking and eating. This is a superb book with something for everyone. I have already tried a few of the recipes and I know they are going to be favourites in my house! I’m already looking at Mich Turner’s other books with a view to purchasing some more of her books, as she clearly knows what she is talking about. Highly recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful informative book

Lovely detailed book with good information. Beautiful pictures.
Healthy ingredients but still contain a fair bit of sugar which for me is fine.
I made the pumpkin and carrot bars, purely because I had a tin of pureed pumpkin in the back of the cupboard which I bought ages ago for another recipe and a few carrots that needed using. It came out a lovely light sponge, moist cake. I added a few cashews to mine. Lovely. Didn't get around to icing it!
Great for afternoon tea.

Great book although second hand - like new - no dust cover.
Some lovely recipes and lots of tips, Mich tells you how long they will keep which is very useful. I have made the Iron Bars which were very easy and delicious - can't wait to make lots more out of the book.
