Pros:
-Light weight
-Able to hear outside sounds
-Long battery life
-doesn't bounce while running
-comfortable
-sounds better than the cheap knock offs
Cons:
-Can't skip back in tracks with the headphone buttons, my cheap ones could do that at least.
-A bit pricey but I so was the cheap ones that died after 8 weeks. I guess I'm just used to 9 dollar ear buds. Lol.
Now to address the sound quality issues that people complain about. Yes compared to over ear headphones and in ear ear buds the sound quality of these suck. But these aren't traditional headphones. These are bone conduction headphones that are meant to allow you to hear outside sounds for your safety/awareness. Yes they do leak sound and can be heard buy people near you if you have them cranked up loud. This is not an issue with me because I just keep mine loud enough to hear the music. I can still hear my foot steps and breathing while running. Yes these are bone conduction. They come with ear plugs so you can block your ear canals. Even though this defeats the purpose of open ear headphones I guess some people will use the ear plugs. And the funny thing is that when you block your ear canals the sound quality of these headphones goes way up close to in ear canal ear buds. I can't really explain this but I would assume it's something to do with sound waves out of sync where you can feel and hear these at the same time.
Now for my conclusion.
As a runner I'm not too concerned with my music quality. I don't even really listen to the music that close. It's mostly for the beat that I will change to whatever pace I want to run. Also a lot of 5k and other events are starting to ban headphones. My last 5k I ran just 2 weeks ago said no headphones. Not wanting to argue with anyone about why mine are different I just kept them in my pocket until I got around the first turn then put them on. It's not like they are gonna chase me down. Lol. Anyways these are great and have lasted longer than my last cheap set. I will update this review down the road, no pun intended, and let you all know how they are holding up.
9 month/250+ mile update:
These are still holding up great. No problems whatsoever in the last 9 months. I've ran in pouring rain with them, dusty gravel trails, freezing temperatures, and 90+ degree days. They still pump out the tunes. I haven't even noticed any reduction in battery capacity but I only charge it maybe once a month.
You can hear ambient sound while wearing AfterShokz Trekz headphones. For example, I ride a lot of blue and black mountain bike trails and I can hear birds and cicada, and even airplanes with no problem. I can hear people riding behind me. Literally, I could have a conversation with someone and hear every word the person is saying with no problem. This is why I say AfterShokz Trekz headphones are a game-changer, you can enjoy some tunes and still hear ambient sound.
SOUND QUALITY
I admit I was on the fence between the two models Trekz Air vs Trekz Titanium because the hardware specifications are identical on their website. After a phone call to AfterShokz customer service (which the person was super nice) I learned why the Trekz Air sound quality is so much better than Trekz Titanium. First, the ear pieces were re-engineered. This provides a better anatomical fit, but this also allowed for improved positioning of the transducers; the tiny electronic devices that converts and delivers sound waves that you hear. Additionally, the Trekz Air uses Bluetooth 4.2. This is a small update from 4.1, but the one characteristic of Bluetooth 4.2 is that it transmits data 250% faster with more reliable over-the-air data transmission and 10x more packet capacity. In other words, more data is processed faster. These combined changes make one massive difference in quality of sound over the Trekz Titanium.
Keep in mind that Trekz headphones are an open ear design. You will not get the same sound quality compared to an in-ear-bud or full-over-the-ear headphone. It’s kind of like listening to music and removing the sub-woofer (the speaker that delivers the really deep thumping bass); basically, you are listening to the mid-range and tweeter speaker frequencies (sort of). Don’t get me wrong, Trekz Air produces a super crisp and clear sound. The Trekz Air produces a much filler and deeper sound compared to the Trekz Titanium, which has a hollower and even less deep sound.
FIT
I like fact that band that connects around the neck on the Trekz Air is shorter and does not rest as low on the neck, it makes for a more comfortable fit when running and under a bicycle helmet.
CONCLUSION
I was fortunate enough to try both Trekz Air and Trekz Titanium. Simply put the difference between the two models is night and day. The obvious is the Air is lighter, but also has a better anatomical fit. Both the light weight and fit of the Trekz Air is better for long days riding or running. It may not seem like a big deal at fist sitting in your home or office, but when your miles out, it will make a difference in comfort. Additionally, the Trekz Air produces a much better sound quality; more importantly, having ability to hear ambient sound while enjoying some motivational music is why AfterShokz Trekz headphones are so incredible. AfterShokz got it right with the Trekz Air. Awesome engineering design and smart use of technology. I definitely recommend the Trekz Air, you will not be disappointed.

+ Excellent for Cycling, Jogging etc so that you are aware of sorrounding noise and traffic
+ This Producy is not meant for music experience so no point comparing sound quality
+ At high bass and high volume you can feel vibration which can be corrected by lowering volume and/or reducing bass
I am super happy with this product as I use it for Office calls, Cycling and Jogs- does what it is suppose to do
