Product Description
The popular alchemic RPG franchise from Gust carries on the tradition of the Atelier series, using alchemy as the main focal point. Atelier Rorona Plus focuses on the exploits of Rorolina Frixell, one the most beloved characters of the Arland trilogy (Ateliers Meruru/ Totori/ Rorona), a young girl who is assigned to complete alchemy tasks over 3 years in order to keep her alchemy workshop and not be banished from the kingdom of Arland. Players can craft new items and also battle enemies using the power of alchemy. As all games in the Atelier series, this title is set against a stunning anime-like background with beautiful 3D graphics and is characterized by an elaborate crafting and synthesis system.

There are a few things I didn't like about the game, but not enough to warrant removing a star:
1) There have been some major changes to the game that you wouldn't know unless if you played the original Atelier Rorona, such as the bingo board being the only way to level Hom. There are many other changes.
2) The Japanese audio is not high quality, and sounds a bit lossy, compared to the English audio. Its actually a bit annoying to play with the Japanese spoken audio because of the sound quality, and not because of the voice actors. The Japanese voice actors are amazing.
Overall, the game is great for people who like this type of genre. The visuals are great, and it has a decent story, with lots of great scenes. Don't expect an amazing plot though! I'd definitely recommend playing it!
If you are serious fan of the series and are iffy about trying Rorona, I would say it is worth it. If you are a new player who would like to try out an Atelier game, I would recommend buying Atelier Ayesha instead. The Dusk trilogy is superior in every way to the Arland trilogy, and Ayesha was probably the best of those.
However, if you are looking for a traditional RPG like Dragon Quest or Final Fantasy, I don't recommend this game because this game is quite different than that of most RPGs.
The Plus version updates the graphics so you don't have these odd looking children for teenagers/adults, simplifies the game to not need a walkthrough quite as much, and adds a new chapter post-game from the sequel games in this trilogy. After the heavier tones of the Dusk trilogy, I was very happy with this game as a fresh take. Don't look at the original version at all, this game has everything and more. Just be careful if you are coming from the Dusk trilogy- you may have gotten used to no time crunches, and this game has them- but nowhere near as bad as the original!

Even so, it should only take about 40-45 hours to wrap the whole thing up. It's an easy game to learn and even though
you're timed, there's no real problems to get done what needs to be done.
BUT, if' you have played the original, don't waste your money!! The "Plus" is just an extra year of doing whatever you
want to do, and that's pretty much the same old, same old. You're better off just re-playing your old game and maybe
taking a couple different characters than you did before just to change things up a bit.
