Exactly as described, shipping was super super fast, and to top it off it was packaged perfectly and it received zero damage. The box is as expected for a older gba game, actually a little better. This was definitely worth the money.
Handheld games are usually given second class treatment when it comes to big name franchises. The games are usually thorwn together quickly with low production values. Kingdom Hearts is the complete opposite.
This game plays, sounds, and looks beautiful.
The voice acting is done superb, the music and sounds are sharp and the graphics are awesome. I cant believe the high quality of the full motion videos in this game. I didnt think a Gameboy was capable of this quality.
And this aint no short romp through the enchanted lands of Disney. The main story took me 18 fun hours to get through. Plus there is a second complete game, with a new character and abilities, once you beat the main story.
And this second game is full with a new story and dialogue. This is pretty much unheard of...
Thoguh i must admit that some of the boss battles in this game will have you ripping your hair out. While the card battles and card collecting is addictive and fun, it can be annoying when some bosses have stacks of the best cards in the game...
All in all this game is a pure gem from its quality packaging and to its superb graphics and gameplay. Whether youve played Kingdom Hearts for the PS2 or not, every Gameboy owned should pick up a copy of this game.
The only problem I ran into with this game is that it's incredibly difficult - if not impossible - to progress without the bumpers. I remember playing the game when I was thirteen and adoring it, so I decided to get it again. However, since I got my DSL second hand from a friend, this was how I discovered that the L&R bumpers don't work, making it impossible to progress in the game. I managed to get passed the tutorial levels because when I purchased it, there was a save file passed the training levels. But I'm stuck on Captain Hook now who requires a lot of combo breakers that I just don't have. So I reset and went to Beast's Castle and I'm having trouble with the Heartless in the area. And I can't even move onto 100 Acre Wood because you need the L bumper to call Pooh. So, either way, I'm stuck. And I don't want to buy a new DS because I've got no job - and it's silly to upgrade since this game won't work on an upgraded DS. =/
Just a heads up, I heard from the guy at Gamestop that the bumpers wear out super quick, so if you want to play this game, I suggest making sure yours work first.
I love the Kingdom Hearts games. Wonderful animation with characters from Final Fantasy games and Disney movies, two great things for me to enjoy. When I heard about this "inbetweener" game on Nintendo's Game Boy Advance I became questionable on how this would affect my opinion of the series in a 2-D format. I haven't finished playing this game since my archnemisis "I'm stuck!" decided to drop in but do not let that stop you from buying this game if you would really like to gain some background on the stuff that is revealed in Kingdom Hearts 2 for Sony's Playstation 2.
The main things that bothered me about the game were getting adjusted to the characters reduction into 2-D (except for a few quick cut scenes which are in 3-D) and learning to use the new battle system with cards that you must collect, win, and buy to advance (the exact reason I am stuck now).
Even though this is an older one, it is really good. It would look the best on a DS Lite or a Game Boy Advance SP. The best part of this game I think was the variety compared to some of the others.
Fun game for the gameboy. It's an RPG hack and slash. There is a card system that is pretty cool but you'll find annoying later on in the game. You need moogle points to get any "good" cards. Once you hit the second world set you'll find that you need to hit up the moogle store a lot. The game play is fun but gets old quick. After you complete 1/4 of the game you'll more than likely want to stop playing for a while. The game follows a pattern along the lines of; synth world, kill monsters, synth room, kill monster, fight boss, rinse, and repeat.
Unless you're into the series I wouldn't recommend buying it. Your best bet is to rent the game because it's pretty much useless once you finish it. The constant repetition in this games take the replay value out of it.
