It has been nearly 15 years since the war between the orcs and humans ended. An uneasy peace settled over the land while, for years, the drums of war were silent. Yet the kingdoms of men grew complacent in their victory--and slowly, the defeated orcish clans regrouped under the banner of a new visionary leader.
Now a darker shadow has fallen over the world, threatening to extinguish all life--all hope. The drums of war play upon the winds once again--rising urgently toward the inevitable hour when the skies will rain fire--and the world will tremble before the coming of the Burning Legion.
WarCraft III returns players to the war-torn world of Azeroth. Developer Blizzard Entertainment combines the lessons learned from its bestselling StarCraft, the famous WarCraft lineage, and all-new 3-D technology to create an all-new, vibrant strategy game sure to become a classic.
Wage war in a fully interactive 3-D world that incorporates nonplayer characters, wandering monsters, neutral towns, strongholds, temples, and environmental effects. Four mighty playable races--humans, orcs, night elves, and undead--compete in a finely balanced dance of conquest. Upgradable heroes gain experience and harness new powers as the game progresses. This is WarCraft that's intimately familiar, yet as you've never seen it before.

I admit that when I had first seen the screenshots for Warcraft III, I thought I was going to be dissapointed. I thought that the idea of upkeep and limits on armies was going to make me not want to play. After all, in Warcraft II, you could have armies hitting 200 at once and just destroy everything around you. Well, I was wrong. Warcraft III shows the amount of work the developers put in over 4 years. Never before have I ever played an RTS where the races are completly unique, yet balanced perfectly. You have no advantage over another just because you are playing Night Elf to Orcs. Each of the races uses it's own type of building capabilities - the humans can co-operativly build, speeding up time, the Undead summon buildings, which frees up their Acolytes to build something else, the Orcs are safe inside the building while they build it, and the Night-Elves use expendable Wisps to "summon" living trees that can move around and fight. Supply and demand also play a big role. You can no longer overwhelm a player with a huge army of knights or rifleman. Instead, you need to manage an army comprised of many elements. You'll want you melee fighters and your air fighters, your seige units, and your magic units. For Humans, you might use a legion of Knights and Rifleman with 3 or 4 Priests and Gryphon Riders. And maybe for the Night Elves, you'll use a group of Huntresses with another group of Archers and 3 or 4 Ballistas with maybe a Chimera. You get the ideas... Bottom line: The best game I've ever played. I'm still playing it now, over and over. Talk about replayability...
Purchased it in 2012, very late I know but I've always loved Blizzard's game even as a young child. Never got the chance to finish the warcraft game series before it took off as WoW. Even though this game is a decade old I still found it to be entertaining and I felt like I a 12 year old again. Keep it up Blizzard! Love it!
This truly is one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.
The Gaming:
The gaming style is much like Age of Empires but a little more fast paced, with several very addictive and fun game modes such as "Footies". The gaming is well done and is very player oriented with custom maps. The Customization is one of the very best things about the game, being able to create truly huge maps, even your game modes and units, is truly astounding. The graphics will most likely (IF your like me) open your imagination, with it's smooth textures (Although a little cartoonish) will impress you as it did me. The servers seem to always be active, with thousands of players online 24/7 (Even on holidays Christmas Holloween etc.
The box and manual were included in decent condition. But the purpose for my purchase was for the game... Unfortunately, the game was not included so I was a bit salty. I've already sent it back for return/refund. But a part of me still longs to play this raw and nostalgic game... All in all I'm spiraling into depression.
Warcraft 3 is the best entry in the Warcraft RTS series. It offers extraordinary 3D graphics that will amaze anybody who played Warcraft 2. The best part of Warcraft 3 is Battle.Net and the World Editor: which lets you make your own custom maps to play either offline with computers, or online with people on Battle.Net. Warcraft 3, along with its expansion: Warcraft 3 The Frozen Throne, are the best RTS games. Of course, some would mention Starcraft, but we'll just have to wait until Starcraft 2 comes out. ;)
In all of my time spent gaming, I have never seen more hype surrounding the release of a video game than with Warcraft III. I suppose it would be difficult for any product to live up to that kind of hype, but I was especially disappointed by Warcraft III. I never have been a huge fan of the Warcraft series, but decided to give this one a try based on how awesome it sounded. Unfortunately, it fails to deliver. The game comes with steep system requirements, and I don't really see why. The graphics are good, don't get me wrong, but I don't really think they show the improvement in technology they should since Blizzard's last game, Diablo II. Also, W3 doesn't have the addictive power that is such a trademark of Blizzard games. I was entertained at first, but have gotten bored of the game now. It is still a very impressive game, but in the opinion of this one gamer, it fails to deliver in the areas which make Blizzard stand out.
i got this for my husband to play with my brothers, We are in TN and they are in FL so it was a way to play and keep in touch. They love it and he enjoyed it so good buy.
It arrived as promised. I then use the product key of both reign of chaos and frozen throne located on the casing of the cd at battlenet. Battlenet then let me download new versions that run on Windows 10. Old games they are still cool.
