This is a particularly bad pressing
2 Stars
This is a particularly bad pressing
This 2LP pressing of Kaleidoscope Dream is mastered pretty badly. It sounds very thin/compressed and needs lots of EQ adjustment to sound passable. Sounds like it was mastered from a 128kbps file…Edit: seems disc A is a bit bad but disc B is better and more listenable. Obvious this was mastered from a junk digital file, though

It's a shame so many people are sleeping on this guy. His skills are arguably equal to Ne-Yo or even Usher, and approaching Prince. He has a new age soul funk kind of sound that we have never heard in music before...and it's good, but the masses have yet to wake up and realize this guy's abilities. I can't blame people though, so much of what we hear on the radio is brain-dead auto tuned crud that it's sometimes hard to realize the diamonds lost in the ruff. Also, his management and PR team do a terrible job of promoting this guy, his hit single "Sure Thing" had been released for over a year before people even became aware of it, and when people did become aware of it, it was obviously a hit. This is definitively one of the better R&B albums we've heard in a while since Beyonce and Usher's last albums disappointed, and Ne-Yo has focused more on producing and song writing. Trey Songz has stayed consistent but he can be very pop at times. Marsha Ambrosius and Adele delivered classics but both of those were over a Year ago

Anyway onto the album Just about every track is good, and there are some definite stand outs, he has a great original sound and a great voice that blends well with the guitar. This is Definitely an "Adults Only" album, because it has some explicit content but that is really where he shines and what the industry is missing. We really haven't had anyone (with the exception of Trey Songz) to replace those R Kelly and Jodeci "Freaks Only" hits, but Miguel Nails it down. The slower bass guitar feel of a lot of this album reminds me a lot of D'Angelo's Vodoo album, but Miguel brings a new and personalized zest to his music, finally delivering some good Neo Soul into the post 90s early 2000s era. This album stands above his Debut album, because it is less of a studio album and more of his personal taste. If you're into that "Grown folks music" but still young at heart this is a must buy for you. Gets 4.5 stars from me, My only complaint is that so many of the tracks were introduced on his Mixtapes, and I was hoping for all new material

Miguel returns with his second album "Kaleidoscope Dream", and this album lives up to the hype. The R&B game has been watered down for some time now and some of our favorites like (Usher, Chris Brown, Etc.) have been going the Euro Pop, Dubstep ,Techno route and I understand that and no disrespect to them at all but none of that is on here and that's the good thing, Miguel didn't play follow the leader of the popular sound of today, he did the R&B that's been absent in the mainstream. Earlier in the year he released his free "Art Dealer Chick EP" series which included "Adorn", "Arch & Point", and "Candles In The Sun" and those songs still hold up good despite being released months ahead of time. He shows growth and proves he deserves to put in the category with the best R&B acts that's out with songs like "Don't Look Back", "Do You...",etc... you can tell he was inspired by the legendary Prince. Alicia Keys appears on "Where's the Fun in Forever?", making her the only guest appearance on here, and we get great production from " Salaam Remi, Jerry Wonda, The Phatboiz, Pop & Oak, J. Milla, and Miguel himself. People have been complaining about the state of R&B, well here's the album we all been waiting on. He kept it short at 11 tracks, and I'd rather hear a 11 track album without filler than a 18 track album with a lot of filler. I definitely recommend this. 4.5 Stars

My favorite song is 'Where's the fun in forever'! I hope they make a video for this. It makes me question myself. Would I strive to be a better or a writer if I had all the time in the world? Perhaps, the clock is our goal keeper so to speak.

Miquel is one of those artists that can take you through time and space. One minute he has you thinking about having a one night stand and then the other minute, makes you want to fall in love.

Our record stores didn't have the album so I bought it on Amazon. This collection is reminiscent of Usher's Confessions album. Just press play and before you know it, you're work is done, you're rough day is over or you're out of traffic.

I give it a five because it is so right on all levels. An emotional level, an environmental level, a spiritual level and how can I forget a sexual level.

Get the album and you will not be disappointed. Quick tip:- Everyone who hears it in your car/house/work is going to want to borrow it. Make a copy and lend them the copy. That way, if they scratch it up you're not mad.

Let's get ready to win a grammy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Buen Álbum en muy buena versión (Vinil)

It's not a new album and everything that is ever going to be written about this has already been written. I'll simply say, I love this album and recommend it highly to fans of neo-soul and R&B.
