I only wish there was more of a tutorial. I had to hunt around and figure out how to get new Digimon
Not to mention, one of my favorite things about this game, you don't capture digimon like in the Pokemon Genre.
Rather, you scan an enemy digimon every time you encounter one, which, once it hits 100%, let's you just make your own free digimon!
The farms, i won't go into detail about. you'll have to get the game for info about that one.
The Story- It's a 3/5 I suppose. they kinda leave you in the dark through alot of it and it gets kinda weird at times, but it's fun and just interesting enough to keep you questing. JUST enough.
The graphics are GREAT in my opinion, I love the style this game has. On the other hand, if you want to buy this game hoping to see your digis in action, think again, all you'll see is their attack animations, and the enemy digimon of course. That was kind of a disappointment, the game is in First-Person format.
That doesn't take away from the fun factor at all, though! fun is a definite 5/5!
The sound- Eh. honestly i don't remember ever even hearing it. My only guess is, it blends so well you don't even notice it. so
I won't take or add stars for that.
The Pros-
Great praphics, interesting animations.
LOADS of digimon to choose from!
Farms let you customize how your digimon Grows.
The plot is at LEAST as deep as a raindrop, which is good considering it's pretty much a dungeon crawler (a genre that, as far as i can tell, isn't so big on storylines.)
WFC and WIFI connectivity lets you breed digimon, trade them or battle them.
The Cons-
You can't get all the digimon you want unless you also get Digimon dawn, or have a friend who has it.
OR, have a usb wifi connector for the DSi that lets you go online and search them out
If you're a fan of guilmon, airdramon or Imperialdramon, get Dawn. it's the same thing with a few different digimon, basically.
DNA digivolving is a hit-or-miss guessing game. they don't show you and prerequisites or any kind of hint as to how to make ANYTHING from what i could tell. all i could do was Level all of my digimon up and try every possible combination til i got a result. luckily, a certain someone made a great DNA digivolving guide to fix that problem.
The story felt kind of short to me. it's only (i think) 40 or so mission, and when you beat about 20, you can beat the final mission.
On the upside it throws a few more quests at you after you do beat it. and all those digimon to play with totally makes up for the short story, so let's cancel this one.
Overall i say it's 5/5 fun, but a 4/5 game. Definitely worth renting at least, but you're guaranteed to be buying it a few hours later.
If you're a dragon digimon fan, i highly suggest getting Digimon World Dawn, it has the most dragon species (Dusk had Beast instead)
