I digress- there is a little something for everyone- the skeetball and the space bowling were challenging and fun, as were the two games you unlock at the very end (air hockey challenge and Kaboom!) but I'd really have liked to see actual CAPCOM classics appear more and in their true form. The prizes were really just a joke- static pictures and really no point to collecting them, but everyone really did find a game or two they could excel at.
The sound effects are quite annoying, with the arcade 'employees' jeering you as you play- but you can actually get some good game play tips and hints if you pay attention to some of their remarks! In the end, we unlocked everything in an evening but, due to the multiplayer options, I think we will play this from time to time with friends and family because it offers quick little mini games we can compete with in between grilling or waiting for the turkey to come out of the oven.
Had 3 friends over to play and let me say, I was a bit embarrassed by this game. While this is no means a complete review, I can tell you from my initial experience with it, I don't know how much I'll be returning to the game. The controls were terrible for most of the mini-games we tried. The Skee-ball was almost impossible to control and more often than not we ended up not scoring points at all because the ball would barely go up the alley. Other games were also hard to control and the instructions on how the games are played were not helpful. There are annoying voice overs that I wish you could turn off (and maybe you can in a setting, I didn't look). There is a lot of content in the game and at $30, it's not bad so that is the reason I didn't give it a one star rating. However, if all the games were as bad and hard to control as the ones I played so far, I don't see myself returning to this game much more again. I was thinking maybe I should have played a bit more to review this game, but my initial impression did NOT make me (or my friends) want to stick around for very long with it. I only wish I had rented it rather than spending about $30 on it. At least maybe I can save a few others who are on the fence about this game from making the mistake I did.
As an aside, I know it gets a bad rep by "hardcore gamers" but stick with Carnival Games for Wii if you want to see a much better version of a game similar to this.
