From Wags to Riches With Bill Berloni
Bill Berloni's life changed after he became a father figure to a homeless girl. Their relationship was challenging at first, but a combination of patience, persistence and trial-and-error eventually won out and led to the two becoming not just best friends but famous too. The girl, you see, was a terrier mix whom Berloni rescued from a shelter, trained and cast as Sandy in the 1977 Broadway musical "Annie." Sandy never missed a performance in more than seven years, and Berloni's career as a theatrical animal trainer was born. "From Wags to Riches" profiles Berloni and his work with the Humane Society of New York, where he specializes in making positive human-animal connections. Berloni's personal passion for animal activism opens doors to a wealth of untapped talent -- allowing him to rescue homeless dogs and give them a second life as stars on stage. Episodes also follow Bill, wife Dorothy and daughter Jenna at home with countless dogs, birds and other farm animals.
