Footsteps in the Snow is a new original documentary that recounts the coldest case in American history, which took 55 years to be solved – the 1957 abduction and murder of a 7-year-old girl. It’s the saga of two families – that of the victim, Maria Ridulph, and that of the killer, Jack McCullough. While Jack was originally considered a suspect, he passed a lie detector test and had an alibi. Over time, Maria’s family gave up hope of ever finding her killer. The first break came decades later when Jack’s mother was on her deathbed and admitted her son was responsible. This was overheard by one of Jack’s sisters, who vowed to pursue justice for Maria. In 2012, Maria’s family finally got the answer they were looking for when a judge pronounced Jack guilty and sentenced him to life in prison.
