How strong is this coffee?

We use a blend of Arabica and Robusta beans that are carefully roasted to deliver a bold, yet smooth cup with an extra kick of caffeine.

What brewing ratio should I use?

We typically recommend using 2.5 Tbsps. of coffee for each 6oz of water. Feel free to use your usual brew method though and adjust from there! If brewing a full pot, we recommend a 1:10 coffee-to-water ratio.

Are there any allergens?

Our coffees are free of any nut or gluten allergens and are produced in facilities that have no possibility of cross-contamination with these allergens.

As a person that fantasizes about drinking coffee, and has done a lot of trial and tribulations, any death wish is the best wish. When it comes to coffee, I drink it black. This not only has the rich flavor that I’m looking for, but it also has a super pleasant smell. A little goes a long way with death wish. And when you smell the fresh beans, that you grounded up, it’s like you’re in heaven. No coffee comes close. Also they have some really cool items like their death wish coffee beans. And they have amazing mugs that have beautiful designs. The expresso version that they have is even more legendary.

I ordered this coffee based on the claim that it's the strongest coffee in the world because I drink both coffee (especially iced coffee) and tea, was curious, and wanted to try something new.

I received whole bean coffee instead of ground coffee, which could have been my mistake when I placed my order. I wasn't disappointed to receive whole beans and just had to buy a coffee grinder before I could enjoy this coffee. I know that whole beans give you a fresher flavor, so I didn't mind grinding the beans myself.

This coffee smells great and tastes delicious. I like to use the finest setting when I grind the beans to get the most flavor. Perfect with breakfast and great with cake and other desserts. Definitely a dark, bold, rich flavor. I love that it's organic and fair trade, even though that means this coffee is more expensive than coffee you'd buy at the grocery store. The price is a little expensive for me, and I wouldn't buy this coffee exclusively all the time, but I'm glad I tried it, and I'll likely buy it again. I've seen 1-pound bags of whole beans and even two-packs (two 1-pound bags together) for less, but some Starbucks coffee is more expensive, so the price falls somewhere in the middle and toward the higher end.

However, I don't know if it's really the strongest coffee in the world. I follow the instructions on my coffee grinder, which say to use 3 tablespoons of whole beans for 4 cups of coffee, which is usually how much my fiance and I make for the two of us. Maybe I should follow the recommendation of the seller and try 2.5 tablespoons of grounds per 6 oz. of water. I've even had this coffee between dinner and going to bed, and I don't think it has prevented me from falling asleep. I guess I expected to feel a significantly stronger caffeine boost, but I didn't feel any different from when I drink other types of coffee. However, I was a pretty heavy coffee drinker until earlier this year. I usually drink Dunkin' Donuts dark roast iced coffee, and I used to drink so much coffee that my brain was addicted to the caffeine. If I didn't drink coffee, I would get headaches from caffeine withdrawal. Since fiance and I moved in April, I'm no longer conveniently located near a Dunkin' Donuts between my house and work, and I don't go out of my way to get coffee in the morning. When I'm home, I drink tea more than coffee. If I tried this coffee again now after months of backing off the amount of coffee I used to drink or if I wasn't a regular coffee drinker, then maybe I would feel the caffeine boost more strongly.

Overall, I really enjoy the smell and taste of this coffee. It ended up being a pleasant surprise to receive the whole bean coffee, and I'm encouraged to buy only whole beans from now on. This coffee is perfect in the morning with or without breakfast. I can't confirm that it's the strongest coffee in the world, but it's a good cup of coffee that's worth a taste.

So this is interesting for me. I wouldn't say I am a coffee snob nor would I say I am even a coffee drinker per se. Coffee is something that is probably going to replace my caffeine as I have recently gotten away from drinking soda. So in order to fill that spot I chose coffee as tea doesn't have nearly the amount of caffeine that will keep me going all day.

Now is this the strongest I can't really say? I will say that I have had Starbucks double expresso thing you can buy from stores that are a lot stronger than this so I guess I would say no. On the other hand, it is probably stronger than different dark roast coffees. The other thing is it is not bitter. Some may like that or some may not. I was using a french press so it may be more bitter out of a percolator/drip coffee maker. But it is rather smooth. I had these three ways so far black, sugar, and with honey. I will say this is perfectly fine black. I do prefer a teaspoon of sugar as I think it brought out some of the sweater notes in the coffee. I needed more honey so maybe not the method of sweetening for this coffee.

Overall it is a good coffee it may be on the pricier side of things so maybe not for most. The marketing is on point though so points I guess. They are supposed to be using good sourcing methods for the coffee so if you are into that I think it is a big plus. The only thing is if you were expecting this to blow you away by giving you energy it is not. A big miss conception is, caffeine gives you energy it does not. All caffeine does is trick your brain into thinking you are awake so no matter how strong the coffee it is not going to make you have any more energy than any other coffee but it may make you stay up longer.

Para atreverse a decir que es el café más fuerte del mundo, esta marca no cumple la promesa ni al 50%. Ambos paquetes venían muy bien sellados, con buena fecha de caducidad en una caja muy padre con un sticker de regalo. Procedí a moler un poco para preparar un espresso y recién molido el olor era delicioso, lo malo empezó al probarlo; no tiene cuerpo, es “plano” no hay notas ni matices, lo peor es que sí te da un “kick” pero es muy ligero, nada que ver con mezclas nacionales como la M4 de Punta del Cielo o cualquier variedad que te vendan en El Jarocho, ésos si son potentes! Death Wish es un excelente ejercicio de marketing pero nahhh, parace la versión light de cualquier café de verdad.

Well, after reading the previous reviews, I thought this coffee was worth a try. There appear to be two sides on the review platform; those who don't think it's that strong, and those who are so affected by the caffeire that they must be wimps!

For what it's worth, here is my opinion of this wonderful coffee! True, it is strong, but it is definitely not bitter. Some coffee producers use a lot of "robusta" beans to give their coffee a kick - the more robusta beans, the more bitter the coffee.

I would guess there isn't very much robusta in the Death Wish, in fact it's probably the finest tasting coffee I have ever tried. It is darkly roasted and has a wonderfully rounded flavour that plays with the taste buds. This is where it gets interesting; as the flavour casual
