So assembly of this unit was strait forward. And for the price I was impressed how everything lined up. I added "lava rtv & gasket" to every screw/metal to metal joint (as one other review on here suggested). Once assembled I seasoned the grill and sealed a few more spots (mainly the side fire box). My first smoke on this grill was a 3lb turkey breast, the grill did okay but struggles to hold temp. After a few hours I finally found the sweet spot of about 225-265F a bit higher than what I would like but its about as good as I can get it. Second smoke was a 4lb pork butt and it did pretty "okay" there too.
The metal of the unit is pretty thin so keeping your smoke temp consistent is a challenge, especially when adding wood. I want to say this is a great grill for an entry level enthusiasts, but if you dont have much experience with fire management, this grill can kick your butt.
I added an ink bird wifi temp probe, I put one in front of my meat and the other probe inside the meat.
Final thoughts are, for the price & with some minor modding I think you can have yourself a pretty decent grill/smoker.
