Great for applying creams/lotions AND for back scratching
This DOWMI applicator is GREAT. I've been thinking about getting something like this for a while, but wasn't in love with the other styles. This has a lot of thoughtful design elements - folds so it can be stored in a drawer or cabinet; washable/removable applicators; can be used 3 ways (shower gel, lotion/cream, and backscratcher if you flip the head). It is made in Korea. The joints to flip the head and to fold the handle fit firmly. It feels and acts like a high-quality product. The silicone pad cleans easily and is comfortable on the back. The back scratcher is rounded enough to be comfortable, but firm enough to be effective. I've been using this for a week. For some areas, you might want to use the applicator folded. See my pics to get a sense of its adjustability.I'm not paid or compensated in any way for this review; I'm just a big fan. :) I wasn't sure it would be worth paying $10 more than the wooden ones that are all over, but it absolutely is. Love it!

I have shoulder pain and this is very useful to apply lotion to the middle of my back. You can change the angle of it, it folds up for easy storage, the pad does not absorb the creams which would make it difficult to keep clean and it spreads the lotion around easily. It seems to be sturdy so I expect it to last. Cleaning is easy, just run water over the pad and wipe dry, fold it up and stash it. The price seems appropriate for what it is and I would definitely buy it again.

What a simple solution! It actually works great! It technically has 3 "heads" (lotion, backscratcher, scrubber) but I mostly wanted it to apply lotion during the cold, dry winter months here. I can reach most parts of my body without being a contortionist, but this part eluded me. Until now! Have used a different design, in the past, that had removable foam pads. Pads were washable and lasted for a long time. However, the manufacture no longer offers replacement pads. This new design, with soft plastic pad is a fairly good replacement. The handle is easier to hold on to, and the pads are easily removed for washing. It applies lotion to my back well and I suspect I'm using less lotion because the pad is non-absorbent. I'm happy with my purchase.

I LOVE this lotion applicator wand for several reasons, especially the concept — which I’ll start with, below. I never imagined I’d put this much thought into an item like this, but I did (LOL), so I’m sharing my thoughts in case it helps anyone decide…

First, I love the concept: A sturdy, portable lotion wand that includes 2 reusable heads (made from TPE, which can be sterilized). All other lotion wands require you to buy replacement heads, which end up being a regular expense. Not this one. This is the only lotion wand I saw that comes with permanent reusable heads that can last a very long time (if well maintained, meaning you hand clean after each use and periodically sterilize the head in hot water for 1 minute [per the description]).

Design: I like how it’s foldable. It’s perfect for travel. But in addition to it being foldable, you can fold the head backwards to use it in its shortened state. Some lotion wands can’t be used when folded. The head also swivels, which may help the wand stay on your skin as you glide over curves. I prefer to keep the head locked into place, and it works fine. When you fold the handle, you can feel the tension and it locks into place, meaning it feels sturdy.

Pad Size: (I’m only referring to the flat head as I haven’t tried the soft bristle head—which is probably nice to use in the shower with shower gel.) For me, the pad is the perfect size and thickness. I’ve seen other wands that use very large and very thick pads. This is a personal preference — some may like that it’s thinner and smaller (it’s by no means small but compared to some others). I like that the pad seemingly does not absorb the lotion at all, and because it’s not so thick, it’s easier to maneuver and feel the lotion being rubbed in. (I figured I’d mention this, too: Many foldable lotion wands use a roller head; while I haven’t tried one, it seems that they may just move the lotion around your skin, whereas a flat pad that is non-absorbent can rub the lotion into your skin. I could totally be wrong about that but it was something I considered).

Customer Service: The seller is the manufacturer, and they provide excellent customer service. I contacted them with an inquiry and they were very quick to respond, communicative, and kind. It’s apparent that they will go above and beyond to ensure their customers are satisfied.

I am very pleased with the seller and the lotion wand!

I've been very limber most of my life. However, I now suffer from pain (arthritis, fibromyalgia, spinal stenosis, etc!) and have great difficulty applying lotion to my back ... especially in the very center of my back. This is the *only * lotion applicator I've found where I can reach any part of my back and apply the right amount of movement and pressure to get the lotion absorbed.

If you take a look at the pictures provided for other applicators you will see a girl holding the applicator where the pad reaches the middle of her back. If you look closely at her 'relaxed' hand you will see that even she wouldn't be able to successfully apply lotion ... she is just posing for the camera. These applicators are usually about 17 inches long. Well ... I have a news flash ... Even with my pain I can assume the same position. The problem is that with these types of applicators it is impossible to correctly apply the lotion to the middle of the back ... and I'm 5'8" tall! It is an incredibly uncomfortable position to try and apply lotion with one of those. They are fine for applying lotion to the arms and legs, but NOT to the upper and middle part of the back.

I haven't had any problems using this applicator. Here are my pros/cons:

PROS:

1) The thing that makes this product successful in reaching the back is:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--- It is longer than your standard applicator -- 19 inches,
--- You can adjust the angle of the applicator,
--- The applicator is flexible ... which helps with application and disbursement of the lotion,
--- Interchangeable pads,
--- The flippable head was a great idea so the arm doesn't have to be adjusted.

2) The rubber pads are much preferable to the spongy pads that need to be washed and eventually replaced. Also, by the time you've finished applying lotion the rubber pads can be simply wiped clean with a paper towel ... with a little soap/water if needed depending on you lotion.

3) NOT MADE IN CHINA! ... Still wish it was made in the USA ... but I can accept South Korea.

CONS: The only thing that doesn't do me much good is the tiny neck and back massager. It is so tiny it doesn't really do it for me. The nodules/bristles are short. Personally, I have a percussion massager for this!

I've not used this in the shower yet, but due to some scrapes I've received this past year due to two falls I think the textured pad would come in handy in cleaning minor wounds. The bristles are soft and don't feel like they would irritate the skin at all.

Personally, I do not understand the negative reviews. This product works well. Yes, it is plastic, but if you take care of things it should last for many years. I've wasted too much money on different lotion applicators that don't work. I hope this review will save someone some of the money I've lost.

I purchased this product without any enticements from the company.

I used this as I have some eczema on my back which is hard to reach and it works very well. The handle can be extended to full length for the furthest parts or used folded for easier parts, but feels sturdy either way. The pads are good as they are solid and do not absorb the cream like others applicators I've tried, so you get most of the cream on you and good coverage. Bought a second one just for the bathroom so back can be exfoliated and not have to keep changed heads. Dad is 82 and got him one and he finds it good even though he's not as agile as he used to be.

I bought another one immediately after the first one as I have 2 dwellings at 2 places. Served my purpose. But it would be best if the design can be changed or improved so that it would be easier to hang it to drip dry. The present design makes it difficult to hang even with the use of additional hooks. It’s a good buy at the reduced price.
