Final Update: I no longer have the t4i and have had the Canon 80D for a while now and this flash still works. I also uploaded a photo showing some of the power it can deliver.. the tunnel shot was completely black.. this photo I use one step down from full power and had the flash angled a little higher.. I can't find the photo I took of the full power shot with the direction straight down the tunnel but this still gives the idea of what it can do. I just took it to see if I could reach down the tunnel.UPDATE: I have had this long enough to do a lot of messing with it. The photo I uploaded was using this Speedlite Flash. I think it came out great. Also attached is a photo of it attached to my Canon t4i (650d). Also, it has 2 slave modes and comes with a stand so you can use it as filler light from the side or wherever. I have verified that it fires off quick and works exactly as it should as a slaveI have seen people say that you need high end flashes etc.. While I do not consider myself a "Professional" photographer, I have found that so far this has been great. Fits on my Canon t4i (650D) and I prefer manual so this is what I need. I can't justify spending $200-$300 for an External Flash.. This does what I need and does it well for the price.

Mind bending value. I cannot fathom how Neewer can sell it so cheap even if its made in China. Nikon flashes are made in China too and they are way more expensive. I've been disappointed more times than not on cheap gear but this flash is truly an exception. The NW-561 is a great flash at any price. Yes its a tad bulky but feels pretty substantial especially given its crazy low price. Light output is relatively high and the controls are super easy to figure out. Yes the manual is almost useless due to poor translating but fortunately you don't need it since its easy to figure out the controls. I run all of my speedlights in manual so not having TTL capability isn't an issue for me. The users manual does suggest a cool down if you are performing lengthy consecutive fires which I'm sure extends longevity. I can't attest to its reliability since I haven't had it that long but so far its a solid flash. I am recommending this to my friends and family. Below $150 its a no brainer; below $50 its a steal.

This powerhouse flash fit my Canon Rebel T6 perfectly. When tightened there was no wobble. It is not too heavy and does not throw the weight of the camera off. That being said, it is lightweight due to rather thin feeling plastic housing. It is well made, however. It also came with a thick velvet storage bag and does include a stand for use off camera as a slave flash.
There is a broad range of flash modes that may be daunting for beginners at first but I would still recommend this flash. Each successive brightness mode is increasingly brighter, as it should be.
All in all I feel this flash is a great deal for what you pay.

(Pro Photographer)

****This is a manual flash.**** If you are looking for a flash to put on your camera: you are likely best served by the TTL/ETTL (automatic exposure compensation with your camera)

I need a basic and inexpensive light that I can use on a stand/clamp at events with a PocketWizard. I don't need TTL, manual is better.
(I was bummed to find that the cheap and reliable vivitar flashes I have been using for years are no longer on the market.)
This setup brings up the ambient light levels in the room but is still a few stops lower than my on camera (main) flash. I sometimes use it as a little kicker pointed at my subject to provide a rim light = nice separation from the background.

This strobe does the trick. The only problem is that it powers itself down if not used for a few minutes. On other flashes this can be disabled.

I've owned two of these flashes over my photography career and I have zero complaints. It's very user friendly (has a slight learning curve for beginners but it's very easy once you get used to it). Reliable and has never given me any issues. The only reason I even replaced my first is because I dropped it several times and it started lagging a bit (completely my fault) so I purchased a second. I use this flash for weddings, births, indoor portraits and more and love it!

I have a Canon 550D - This flash is not controllable via the camera's settings.
The camera only triggers the flash. The flash does not control the camera shutter speed or aperture value.
So using this flash you have to manually select Shutter speed when shooting in TV, and manually select Aperture Value in AV mode.
Other than the limited features, the flash does what it is supposed to do, and is a great addition to a super beginner setup, and good value for the exceptionally cheap price.
The flash is much bigger than expected...a little bulky.

The flash has different power settings, but once again...all manual, so one has to take 2 - 3 pictures before finding a nice middle ground for Exposure vs Flash Power to achieve a great picture. Once you have that dialed in, it takes great snaps!

Maybe if I knew that the features were so limited I wouldn't buy it, but I will NOT return it, as it does essentially do what it needs to, and its very cheap. (Doesn't look or feel cheap, solid build quality)
