Bethany's fiance just betrayed her on the eve of her wedding so she called it off. Fate has thrown her and Reggie back together with a vengeance. How can they work together when they are in a love/hate relationship and have been since 5th grade. No matter how they feel they have to make sure that the charity auction they are co-chairs of is a success. He is the poor little rich boy and her family works hard for their money running a successful hotel. It is like the Hatfields and McCoys without the guns. This book takes them through the pain of the past and requires forgiveness on several levels for both of them before they can see the future that is before them. This is a wonderful tale that will entertain you for hours of reading.

Things in this story moved a little fast for it to be entirely believable. Lots of ups and downs, back and forth in the non-relationship relationship Bethany was denying they had. I think a prologue would have been good in this story to understand how they were supposedly enemies and yet had been crushes in elementary school. Reggie was a little too aggressive for my liking with Bethany at times. He played the role of take charge controlling male a little too much. Crazy story, but entertaining.
Rating: PG-13, clean but not entirely wholesome since there is discussion of cheating and a couple characters get drunk in the story

This book started out slow but developed into a decent read. Bethany and Reggie had known each other since they were children in school. They both had reason to mistrust each other. You can read how they are continually thrown together. After starting a relationship with each other they experience a horrible misunderstanding. Will they be able to forgive each other and learn to finally trust each other or will they let their past interfere?

Even though I enjoyed the story line there were inconsistencies that bothered me. The first one was when his non-loving parents sent him to Europe for schooling. The next thing I read was how he kissed a girl on the playground in fifth grade! Then he was on the football team in high school. I’m not sure how he could be in Europe and Texas at the same time. She also used “this’s” for “this is” throughout the book. This is the first book I’ve read by this author; not sure I’ll read another.

Bethany and Reggie have history. The resort her family owns and runs has history. Beth left Pete at the alter after finding out what he did the night before wedding. Bethany and Reggie are placed on a charitable committee together. Can they get through the past and work together. I really liked the story.

Despite his clumsiness at times, Reggie is a thoughtful, romantic hero, and his secretary, Shannon, is a true jewel of a friend and allie to both of them.
