"What speaks to me in this book is the power of friendship and the connections of family. I was impressed with how the author addressed these universal themes in a unique way, connecting friends and families across dimensions. I'm also impressed with the elements of mystery going on here. I highly recommend this book, and am going to read more in this series."

"Ms. Proebstel has had me hooked since I read Book 1 of the Ascension series. Just as I was satisfied that certain people received their just desserts, she pops another tangle into the mix regarding Amanda's daughters. I hope Amanda does find what she is looking for. As for the psychiatrist? There must be special punishments for people like him ... Part 4 is on my buy list for sure."
- Jo, Amazon Reviewer ★★★★★

"The series continues with full force and I'm enjoying it as much. A romantic relationship is also on the rise in this book. The snapshots from the hospital on Earth keeps me mystified, I want to know more."
- Seden, Amazon Reviewer ★★★★★

"I love this alternative world of Tuala, a secret place that is in another of earth's dimensions. Once again we have some great descriptions and scene setting. The thought of such a place makes me think I can see something wavering in my peripheral vision. Almost as if I were fast enough, I could reach out and touch it...Could there really a parallel world out there?"
- Jackie, Amazon Reviewer ★★★★★

"The plot keeps thickening, but it's more than that. With each new book, the characters become more lovable. What's happening becomes more worrisome, and the reader becomes wholly immersed in the worlds of Tuala and Earth. I can't stop reading the Ascension books."
- Sherrie, Amazon Reviewer ★★★★★

The storyline in 'Ascension Quest' picks up where the previous book in the series left off, with Amanda and one of her young twin daughters on Tuala, searching in vain for her other daughter, kidnapped and now missing. Even though I hadn't read books 1 and 2 in this series, I was able to pick up the story and the characters, as Amy Proebstel did an excellent job of providing the information you needed to know, without being intrusive.

In this book, Amanda, helped by her friends Bryon and Alena, is desperately searching for her daughter Jena. Her other daughter, Juila, has a special, mysterious connection with her twin, which Amanda finds both puzzling and comforting. During this quest, Amanda discovers family she didn't know she had. She also discovers that she has Tualaian powers, making her a blend of Earthling and Tualaian, a unique being able to navigate both worlds.

What speaks to me in this book is the power of friendship and the connections of family. I was impressed with how the author addressed these universal themes in a unique way, connecting friends and families across dimensions. I'm also impressed with the elements of mystery going on here: Who is Dr. Gascon and why is Amanda locked up? What will happen to the villainous Petre? And what are the Elder Debbon's motives?

Before I finish up this review, I'd like to give a shout-out to Amy Proebstel for her amazing imagination and world-building. It's truly impressive. (My favorite Tualain power? Getting dinner on the table by just thinking about it!) Ms. Proebstel has this other dimension completely figured out, down to the food, the language, the geographic equivalents, the difference in the passage of time, the technology, the movement between the two dimensions, the physical and mental powers available in both dimensions… I could go on, but it's probably best if you read the book and find out for yourself! I highly recommend this book, and am going to read more in this series.

The series continues with full force and I'm enjoying it as much. Amanda is determined to find her daughter, and Byron and Alena, as always, are a big help. (I absolutely love the friendships in this book) Yet, as time ticks away, she is no closer to finding her. As she lists unexpected help, Jena is in more danger than ever. Who will control the destiny of Jena? As Petre and Elder Debon fight to be the one, will Amanda be in time to save her? A romantic relationship is also on the rise in this book. At this point, I got so used to Tuala that I may find it hard to adjust to the story unfolding itself on Earth. The author displays the life, friendships, background, technology in Tuala so well that I know I will miss it if and when the time comes to take the twins to Earth. I also have a few questions still unanswered. The snapshots from the hospital on Earth keeps me mystified, I want to know more. Onto the fourth book.

The plot keeps thickening, but it's more than that. With each new book, the characters become more lovable. What's happening becomes more worrisome, and the reader becomes wholly immersed in the worlds of Tuala and Earth. I can't stop reading the Ascension books. Jena and Juila are so endearing, and the supporting cast of characters are so perfectly entwined that the whole story really grabs at your heart. Impossible to put down - the stakes are so high, and the tension and mystery keep escalating. Most of all, I loved the underlying acknowledgement that Jehoban loves his children and plays an active part in their lives, guiding and directing their paths. I can't wait to read the next Ascension book. Highly recommended for anyone who loves fantasy, or just a great love story - not necessarily romantic love, but married love, parent love, and friendship love, all intertwined. Ascension Quest has the perfect blend.

Proebstel’s readers will appreciate the passion she holds for her interplanetary traveling characters as she draws them together to overcome significant personal challenges and put their lives—as well as their families—back together.

Having been introduced to the third book in the “Ascension Quest” series as a novice reader, I found it easy to relate to the “Ascension Quest Book Three” story despite having had no exposure at all to the prior two chapters. The author does an adequate job familiarizing readers with her overall plotline, and her characters are imbued with back-stories that have texture and substance. There are a few areas in the novel where the dialogue may be a bit stilted, sounding more like a lecture rather than a simple conversation between characters when read aloud, but the overall writing is rich in detail and effectively holds the reader’s interest.

Although this story is themed as Sci-fi, containing various hallmarks of the genre from teleportation between planets Tuala and Earth to alien technology and futuristic cultures, the tale itself focuses more on the resolution of a kidnapping and the mother’s pain at having had her child stripped away at a very early age. Proebstel effectively presents the story from both sides, showing the consequences of this criminal act on those who perpetrated the crime and those who have suffered so greatly from this horrible act.

The reunion of Amanda’s twin toddlers is the main goal of this chapter of the “Ascension Quest” series, and if one were to extract the elements of Sci-fi and Fantasy from this story, it might still be found equally enjoyable by Crime/Mystery fans. In either case, this novel is a fascinating read, injecting elements of Sci-fi into a classic kidnapping case that will peak one’s curiosity as certainly as it tugs at the heartstrings.

I loved the first two books in the Ascension series and this one is no exception! I will definitely read each one!
I think the most amazing thing about this series is the world building! I forget that Tululah isnt a real place. The detail is amazing!! I have so many hopes for the other books... does she find love? (I really hope a romance comes about), do we see the girls grow up.... and so on.
This is a fantastic series and one I highly recommend!!

Having read the first two books in this series, I couldn't wait to get my hands on the third and it didn't disappoint.

Carrying on from the last intallment, Amanda, Petre and the rest of the characters vie in their own ways for control of the girls, though Amanda has to make the gut wrenching decision to chose only one. Will she pick our world or Tuala?

I love this alternative world of Tuala, a secret place that is in another of earth's dimensions. Once again we have some great descriptions and scene setting. The thought of such a place makes me think I can see something wavering in my periferal vision. Almost as if I were fast enough, I could reach out and touch it...Could there really a parallel world out there?
