About this item
- WHAT IS A BINARY WATCH? A binary clock displays the time in the language of computers, the binary system. It contains only ones and zeros, but you can easily transform it to our normal numeral system.
- HOW DO YOU READ THE WATCH? The top-row shows the current hour. The LEDs represent 8, 4, 2 and 1. The bottom-row displays the current minute and the LEDs represent 32, 16, 8, 4, 2, 1. Just add up the glowing numbers and you are done!
- ABOUT THE WATCH - To save energy, the LEDs only glow after you've pressed the button at the side. The plastic wristband is adjustable between 5.5 inches and 8.2 inches. The watch needs a CR2032 battery, which is included and can easily be exchanged.
- A PERFECT GIFT - Everyone in IT and science will love this watch, which makes it the perfect geek & nerd present and even the perfect gift for men and women in general.
- ORIGINAL GETDIGITAL - The watch was exclusively designed by our getDigital designer, which is why you won't find it anywhere else. The design depicts a circuit board whose soldering points are the LEDs that display the time.

1. displays time in real binary
2. no "crib sheet" numbers for the LED.
3. simplistic/futuristic design.
4. appears durable. I have used it nearly continuously for a while now and it shows absolutely no signs of wear.
5. light and comfortable enough to wear for extended periods of time.
Cons:
1. difficult to read in the dark...you can't tell if it is "101" (which is 5) or "1010" (10) or differentiate between "100100" (40) and "10010" (18) since only "1"s are illuminated and "0"s are left dark (meaning that you can't tell the position of the "1"s.
2. hard to set the time because there is no "blink" after holding the mode button for 2 seconds (seems that there is an LED buried under the face that is supposed to indicate that it is in "set time" mode).
Oh, and another thing...there is no indication for AM/PM...not a big deal as we should already know whether it is morning or evening, but it would have been a nice addition.
3. only time displayed and only for 5 seconds...no date, no alarm, absolutely nothing else.
4. not even water resistant...disappointed about that.
5. face is simple plastic and is easy to scratch.
6. still unsure about the reliability...it may have gone off by 1/2 to 1 minute over a couple months, but I will have double check and reset all the other clocks in the house and see which ones are the culprit.
I must say that this definitely looks cool and will go over well with any nerdy/geeky people. The minimalistic design is great and it is comfortable to wear. Durability, so far, has been exceptional. The only thing on this point that could be better would be some sort of water resistance and a scratch resistant face. The face is just simple plastic and is easily scratched (so far no issue). The battery should last a long time since it only displays the time for 5 seconds. This isn't an issue for me, but if you don't know binary, then you will have to push a button more than once to add up the numbers in your head...which leads me to another issue. This watch is difficult to read in the dark or when it is getting darker. The relevant LEDs light up, but the nonrelevant LEDs don't and when it is dark, you have no idea where the non-lit up LEDs are. This can lead you see the wrong number (see the example above). Talking about the LEDs...when setting the time, you are supposed to get a "blink" to indicate that the watch is in "adjust time" mode. The problem is that there is no blink...because the LED for that seems to be under the front face next to the hours. Basically it has been covered up.
Other issues are that the watch face is simple plastic and looks like it would be easy to scratch, so be careful or wear your watch on the inside of your wrist. The band is adjustable and seems to be within the normal range for people's wrists. I use a middle setting and my daughter uses the 2nd hole...so this should fit just about everyone. One biggie is that it is not water resistant...OK, waterproof to "x" meters deep would have been nice, but water-resistant should be a gimme. So far no problems, but I worry about going out in the rain...
OK, things to make this better...you have two buttons...why? Both buttons do the same thing. Having other functions would be nice...AM/PM indicator, alarm, world clock (where you can set the watch for other time zones), etc. There are so many ways to make this watch better, but for the price, it does what it is supposed to do, is light and comfortable to wear, and so far and appears like it should last. I'll come back and do an update after some more time.
Only TWO suggestions...
1) A change between red (AM) AND blue (PM) LEDs, for morning and evening. Not needed, but would add to the overall feel to the watch.
2) A slight backlight to the binary positions that aren't currently being illuminated for the time...so you could more easily read it in complete darkness.
Overall though, I love it 😍

Band is wide but buckle is sharp and over all very rigid
Very very tiny screws to change out battery

4. Needs to be waterproof
All in all I got what I paid for.
