The Stalker

One of the many things I love about The O’Connells series is that each episode seems so real-to-life. Alison hasn’t had an easy existence, and because of this, she doesn’t have a lot of trust that anything good will come her way. Therefore, you can’t expect her story to be all hearts and flowers. Just as she’s taking steps to gain some independence, she meets Bennett Warren who sparks her interest as he seems equally interested. What she doesn’t expect is to fall victim to an unknown stalker, who invades her privacy and acts on her personal thoughts. As she again feels she’s responsible for actions beyond her control, Bennett’s motives become suspect. Who can she trust, and will this be when her family realizes she’s not worth their love and support? Even though this is a quick read, it will capture your interest from the beginning and, as it’s been with each episode in the O’Connell saga, keep you turning pages until the very end. The stalker was a bit of a surprise, as was Bennett’s secret, which adds to the elements of intensity and intrigue. The O’Connells, being a tight-knit group, really know how to circle the wagons wherever there is a hint of trouble for any one of their family, and once they consider you family, you’re family for life, no matter what. This is something in which Alison is learning she can trust. It’s a wonderfully engaging story, and the O’Connell family dynamic is another reason I love this series so much.

We are back with the O’Connells. A complex family filled with secrets, who overcome obstacles, and have a past. But through it all, the loyalty of the family is what makes them strong. Family means everything to each one of them. This time the story belongs to Alison Sweetgrass-O’Connell. Alison has been more of a misfit, and her young life has not been easy. She still doesn’t feel part of the O’Connells and now that she is out of school and 18, she is determined to be on her own. She works as a waitress in an unfriendly environment. Her journal is her outlet, where she expresses her anger, those she dislikes. When those individuals in her journal start having accidents, her new neighbor might not be whom he appears, and someone has been in her apartment, she is frightened and uncertain who to trust. Will she be able to survive when her “stalker” confronts her? Once more , the author gives us realistic situation, filled with drama, and showing that life is not black and white, but various colors of gray. I was entrusted a copy of this book.
