In the first book Suzanne is the youngest O'Connell and she strives to be the best at her job. When a promotion goes to a least deserving fireman, she doesn't sweat it because she is infatuated with Toby despite his lack of abilities to handle the job that he got because of nepotism. Tie in her family trying to draw her attentions to his true character and the reentry of an ex boyfriend and you have a story that draws you in and keeps you glued to the drama as it unfolds. This leads us to book five, an intriguing story that gives us an up close look at Luke and who he is, his military career and its effect his next job will have on his family. He is devoted to both but will his obsession about finding clues about his father put his family in harms way? This story is compelling and draws you in from start to finish. Finally the last book leads us to The Home Town Hero. Owen has a lot on his plate. He is a caregiver to his younger siblings including being surrogate father. He is a plumber and that job takes him to the high school where he comes across his high school crush Tessa who is a teacher there. Together they make a gruesome discovery that will bring light back on to Owen's family. There are secrets he wants to remain covered but with all the drama and chaos going on over the discovered body will he be able to keep them covered and will they keep him and Tessa apart?
