About this ebook

What was supposed to be a simple rescue by a stranger turns into so much more.

Everyone’s favorite family is back! “The chemistry between Ric and Chelsea smoulders from the beginning, then begins to burn brightly. You won’t want to miss this book! Definitely a keeper!” (Rebmay)

Everyone in Columbia Falls, Montana believes that Chelsea Friessen is a spoiled princess who is more trouble than she’s worth. They’d be wrong though, considering that tale was spun by a scorned high school crush and two years later is still the first impression everyone has of her.

But when she meets a man whose personality is as arrogant as he is drop dead gorgeous that if Chelsea was in her right mind should have her running away from him. The only problem is that this badass stranger walked into her life knowing he saved her from humiliation, a stranger and a kiss she couldn’t resist where he pretended to be her fiancé. The only problem with pretending is it suddenly becomes far too real.

A knight in shining arms has a heart of gold... Chelsea is a young lady on the cusp of adulthood which should have been the best time of her life. Chelsea comes from a very loving home with madly in love parents and siblings that keep life interesting. While working a summer job Chelsea has been hiding secrets from her family that could turn her family upside down. Alaric/Ric is a smooth Bostonian with familial troubles of his own... although he seems to be forging his own way in this world. It wasn't easy getting to this level of success especially in light of the fact that his father is not the most upstanding individual in the world with a reputation that could instill caution to anyone who disrespects any of his family. Chelsea is a the female version of her daddy with her mama's eyes. One bad decision has caused her untold heartache but what can she do? It has caused her reputation to be dragged thru the dirt but how can she hurt her family with her issues... she can take care of it... right??? Ric, who is on a forced vacation, just happens to witness Chelsea being dragged for no reason at all and there is no way he would allow a woman to be treated so badly! Who the is this kid and why is he treating her like that???? Well... since no one else will step up to the place Ric boldly stands by her side to shut the abuse down... while inadvertently upping the ante and claiming Chelsea as his own. Did he really do that??? I enjoyed the story line and all of the twists and turns that it took. This family knows how to circle the wagons around their own and fight for their loved ones! Ric is the type A alpha male in every way with just a touch of Godfather attached to him. At times it was a bit much but I understood where he was coming from. Chelsea felt like she was morphing from child into a grown young woman but it can be understood as the story moves along. There was a lot of love, understanding, some angst and truths revealed in this story that brought about healing and new beginnings not only for the family but for Chelsea and Ric as well. I wish the ending was a little more complete where it ended and some loose ends resolved, especially when it came to Chelsea's ex and her boss! Since this is a series I am more than sure that there will be other novels where Chelsea and Ric will appear so that gives me some hope to see them a little further down the road and this not be the end of their story. I received a free ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Audiobook review: Overall 5 Performance 5 Story 5 So romantic, such an alpha male hero. If you love a good strong, alpha male hero with a good HEA you should love Welcome to My Arms, the latest audiobook from Lorhainne Eckhart, performed by Lili Dubuque. Chelsea Friessen is being harassed by an ex-boyfriend. When he tries to humiliate her a knight in shining armor steps up and saves the day by taking her in his arms and kissing the stuffing out of her and then immediately addressing her as his fiancé. This is just the beginning of the alpha male tendencies shown by Alaric (Ric) Taft. It's a whirlwind romance that Chelsea's parents aren't happy about but as they learn more about what happened with the ex-boyfriend and how Ric helped Chelsea they almost begin to soften. Chelsea sees in Ric the same things she sees in her father; she just never thought she'd ever find anyone like him to love her. There's really quite a lot going on in the story. Ric's father has ties to the mafia which does anything but endear him to Chelsea's parents. Chelsea is also keeping a secret from everyone about what really happened between her and her ex-boyfriend. When that secret finally comes out her father goes ballistic. Reader's who don't care for insta-love type stories may not like this one but I know real-life couples who fell in love in less than a week and remained married until one of them passed away so this kind of story doesn't bother me at all. This is the second book I've listened to performed by Lili Dubuque and I really loved listening to her voice. Her smooth, lilting tones were very soothing and calming and helped make the time I had to spend doing chores must less tedious. All of the books in The Friessens series are great romantic stories and Welcome to My Arms is no exception. I look forward to reading more books in this series. I received a free Audible code from the author but this review was voluntary and not influenced by the free gift.
