Vic is an alpha male all the way–and swoon worthy! This is a review of the audiobook, Overall – 5 Performance – 3 Story – 5 Ever since Lorhainne Eckhart introduced us to Vic McCabe in Leave the Light On, a book in her popular Friessens series, I've wanted to read his story. You definitely don't need to read Leave the Light On before reading this one as Vic was a minor (but memorable) character in that book. He is a very wealthy man and owns a construction company with locations in multiple states. In Don't Stop Me we learn that Vic's past wasn't so stellar. That past comes knocking on his door in more ways than one. A reporter has dug up information on something that happened in Vic's past that also affects the only women he ever loved. They haven't seen each other in 15 years and now Vic must find her so that he can protect her from what the reporter wants to print. Wow! I loved the little bit of Vic that we got to see in Leave the Light On and he's even more alpha and yummy in his own story. Don't Stop Me has a bit of mystery and intrigue as well as lots of heat between Vic and Fiona. We also get to meet one of Vic's brothers, Chase, and I'm looking forward to reading his story soon. About the narration…This is the first audiobook I've listened to by Jaclynn Michelle Elfring. She did a great job with different voices for the characters in the story and she has a pleasing voice. The main reason I only gave her performance 3 stars is the phrasing was off in way more than a few places. It didn't exactly take me out of the story but it was definitely noticeable. She only has two book on Audible so I'm hoping that she's new to audiobook narration and that she will improve with more experience. A review copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

I really wanted to love the book but I just couldn't. first the heroine is a crybaby who blames the hero for everything that went wrong in her life. the worst part is that she kept his child away from him(sorry for the spoiler). and she has no decency to apologize for it. I found her to be a terrible human being who shifted blame to everyone but herself. it's sad because I really loves Vic and he deserves better than this woman. I also feel that the book was rushed. there was not enough interaction between father and son. I have no idea why the author decided to bring in the newly discovered sister. it was a part of story that went nowhere

Emotionally intense story with unforgettable characters! Vic and Badra's love affair ended violently and tragically some 15 years ago. Vic has risen from the ashes of that traumatic time and pushed himself to attain the success and wealth that he has now; a struggle that is memorialized by the phoenix tattoo on his sexy, toned body. Badra suffered too many losses that night and no longer feels safe to be herself after unfairly being racially profiled so long ago. Their reunion is combustible and there's a young man involved, who is extremely susceptible to the fallout caused by the flames. My only regret is that this thrilling story had to end. I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions expressed are my own.
