Most difficult case I've ever worked with
2 Stars
Most difficult case I've ever worked with
I'm giving this case two stars, out of generosity, and to account for the fact I do not build computers all the time so my inexperience could have been a factor in my frustration.Pros: This is a highly modular case. You can do almost ANYTHING you want with your components, inside, that you want to. Want to put your AIO CPU cooler radiator on top? You can do that (up to 420). Want to put it on the front instead? You can do that. Flip your hard drive and DVD configuration upside down? You can do that. Want to rip out almost everything and reconstruct the case from there to fit your build? You can do that.Cons: Oh...where to even start?!1. The manual is in English, German, French, Polish, Spanish, Russian, Taiwanese, Chinese, and Japanese. All with the same diagrams and their respective language. However, it's a lot of filler that is largely useless to me.2. The manual is also poorly designed and damn near useless. Instead of going one language at a time, what they do is (towards the front) they have a few pages for the specs, contents of the case, and an exploded view of the case. Then they repeat that particular bit, until they get to the last language in the list, and revert back to English to talk about everything else related to the case. After the English section ends, in the second part, they move onto the next language in the list. So each language, basically, has a few pages near the front (or their respective positions) and then there's a bunch of filler crap between what you understand in the beginning and where it picks up later on in the manual. Utterly stupid.3. The biggest problem with the manual is...the instructions were clearly written by someone who's never built a computer in their life. See picture (first) above for an example. You got a lot of text in every language for a lot of things, but the diagrams are just trash.4. This may be a full-tower case, but if you're looking to pack big components inside, your dream layout will not survive impact with this case. Example:I was looking to put my cpu radiator on top, but the case design didn't allow for that. So where'd it end up? At the front of the case. Okay now I need to move the two 140mm fans included on the front of the case to the top so the radiator can go in their place. Okay, got the fans put in place, but now I also have to remove the DVD/2-bay hard drive enclosure completely out of the case, because there's nowhere to put it. Oh, and what's this? Because the 420 radiator is at the front, I can't put the PSU shroud back on, as it's blocking it from fitting back on where you got it.I swear, if there was some kind of software online that allowed you to take a case, put components in it online, wire things up the same way you would in person, and see how the build turned out, that would save EVERYONE trouble. It would allow users to figure out what case works for them, it'd save places like Amazon from taking back returns, and it would prevent manufacturers from having to accept those returns from Amazon. Everyone would be happier...so, of course, no one has done it.5. If you are not experienced with building computers, then listen to the following statement VERY CAREFULLY: Document, take photos, or video yourself removing parts and screws so you know where to put them back later on (assuming everything will fit after component installation). Also, give yourself a LOT of room to work with. Grab some 12-foot long plastic table, some Tupperware to hold all the screws, a video recorder, and a punching bag to relieve stress. To summarize this IS a good case or, at least, I'm sure it is. The problem is it's too modular, too customizable for the average or amateur person to use. The instructions are terrible, as mentioned, and you can strip this thing down to framework if you feel like it. Without some way to plan ahead, this will give some users way too much thought for pause.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Case (with one caveat), Excellent Customer Support
Reviewed in the United States on July 15, 2019
I got this case for my new build around a month ago. I had read some cool things about it (including the unique built-in Qi charger and USB 3.1 gen 2 front panel port that's sorely lacking in the case market right now) and it fit all of my needs without compromise (plus the Silent Wings 3 fans that I'd heard many good things about), so I ended up choosing this case after poring over almost every full tower case available right now.

The case unfortunately came with the base broken off - it had looked like several small pieces that help connect the base to the rest of the case had been snapped off at some point. I was extremely concerned about this at first; I hadn't had good experiences contacting customer support for other companies in the past and it definitely didn't help that I have a fair bit of anxiety regarding phone conversations.

After a bit of complaining to myself, I ended up calling be quiet customer support and a great guy working directly in the warehouse picked up. A very short calming conversation later and he helped guide me through what information they'd need from me and he had them put a base aside for me before I had even submitted that information. He assured me that it would arrive the next day - which I was extremely skeptical about, as I had called them in the evening - but, surely enough, it arrived before I even got home from work the following day! 20/10 customer support, would recommend them to anyone based on that alone.

For the actual case: as others had stated, the PSU shroud was an absolute pain to work with, but it looks nice and has an SSD mount on top of it, so that's a nice bonus. If you buy this case, save yourself a lot of hassle and remove the PSU shroud before doing anything else, place it back in when you're done installing your other components. If I had known this before, I would've been spared a lot of time and frustration. I'm tempted to deduct a star just due to how much of a pain the shroud was, but I won't do that because of their excellent customer service.

There's an SSD mount on the back behind the motherboard mount point - I didn't see this advertised anywhere, so that was another nice little bonus.

The Qi charger works as any other Qi charger does, but it's extremely convenient that it's directly on top of my computer that sits right next to me. No extra cable dangling to the wall, no awkward protruding surface for my phone to fall off of, not some gimmicky garbage "wired but wireless" charger, but directly built in to the case. This was an unexpected, but ingenious idea from be quiet and I wish other manufacturers would take notice of this.

It came with LED strips, but I didn't install them. A bit of a personal preference to not have everything lit up like RGBChristmas. If you're into that kind of thing, they're there.

If you're experienced at building computers and want a good case backed by excellent customer support with good connections and features, I'd highly recommend looking into this case and buying it if it fits your needs.
