8Bitdo N30 Pro2 Bluetooth Gamepad
N30 Pro was created to be the ultimate, powerful, portable controller. And this is N30 Pro 2.
N30 Pro 2 refines every element of its predecessor with features like motion controls, vibration, USB-C and turbo functionality. It is built with clickable joysticks and features a full-sized controller button set so you can play any game, anywhere.
The Pro controllers aren't just full-sized wireless bluetooth game controllers - they were designed with respect for the classics. We paid extra attention to the most critical characteristics like the D-PAD, to make sure it feels exactly like you remember it. 8BitDo controllers are designed to be as versatile as possible with each of your modern devices. Easily pair your controller as an X-input or D-input device via bluetooth. And you can even use it as a wired USB controller with the included USB cable.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
I initially purchased the controller for use with some very specific arcade / platform style games (Cyber Shadow, The Messenger, etc). But I quickly found myself reaching for it for “larger” games such as Forza Horizon 4.
Now, don’t get me wrong, this probably isn’t the one controller to rule them all. In my opinion, there is one short-coming:
The controller can feel a bit small in your hand, particularly if you have big hands and when reaching for the “triggers”. They’re more like shoulder buttons than triggers on this controller. It’s not a bad thing but your mileage may vary depending on what game your playing. But if you’re reading this review, I’m willing to bet you’re looking for something small so this caveat is probably unnecessary.
Having said that, I’ve probably put in close to 100hrs in Forza Horizon with just this controller and I’ve never experienced discomfort or pain while playing. This also brings me to the joysticks. They feel fine, probably not the best I’ve ever used. I probably wouldn’t use this controller for any FPS game (CoD, Halo, Fortnite, etc). Again, your mileage may vary.
So what do I like? The fact that it uses USB-C is a big deal, that means the batter charges very fast (and the battery life is pretty good in my opinion). It also means I don’t need ANOTHER cable on my desk. I love that I can use the controller while charging. I also love that I can use it with several devices and consoles. Setup and connection was easy and seamless.
All in all, it’s a GREAT controller to have around, just make sure it’s the controller that matches your needs.
Using with RetroPie: All other controllers I use map in as x-input so naturally I connected it as x-input. This caused the right joystick to not register the left and right movements. d-input dropped the shoulder buttons (why?). In the end I had to use the switch compatibility mode, which worked fine*. The issue with Switch mode is that the buttons don't get correctly remapped in SteamLink. Not a dealbreaker, but a little annoying. I just want the bottom button to be "A" not "B" when I'm using SteamLink to play PC games.
Joysticks seem to be slightly less responsive than I would have liked, but still very usable. Think using a slightly worn out N64 joystick rather than a sharp DS4 or XBox One controller.
The design is perfect and feels comfortable in my hands even after hours of game play. The sticks are the perfect size and the buttons feel very comfortable. I absolutely love the trigger and bumper placement. I know that a few people have issues with them being so close, but I've used the old nes30 model in the past and it feels second nature to me.
The big bonus is how comfortable it is moving from button to button. Hardly have to move my hand at all. I've been playing minecraft, terraria and borderlands 3 with no issues at all. And the battery lasts a long time.
It does have rumble, but I'm not a huge fan of rumble so I mostly keep it turned off. But it does work well and doesn't shake the entire controller like larger controllers do which is a plus.
All in all, I would absolutely recommend this controller for both PC and android games. I have not tested it with the switch yet, but I can update once I do.
If you have hands that are on the smaller side like me but require a good powerful controller with all the features of its bigger counterparts, get this one. It's my every day controller and I will likely buy another in the future just to have a spare. I don't want to be without this controller and have to rely on a big clunky Xbox controller ever again.

Running it in Bluetooth mode on an Amazon Firestick 4K, connected right away. Didnt have to remap any buttons.
It is a tad on the small side, but i still find it rather comfortable. Fits my sons hand perfectly (he's almost 5).
Amazon package arrived open, but 8bitdo packaging was intact; seems to be an issue with the new 3rd party delivery companies being used as of late.
Overall, super impressed; total use time so far about 5 hours between my son and me.
Ordered another one a few minutes ago fir multiplayer.
