It starts off with a worshipful song 'All Glory' which really focusses on God and giving Him glory. For me, I love it when songs are written directly TO God in praise to Him. After all, that is what we are created to do!
Greatest Hallelujah in the chorus resembles the chorus from Elevation's Resurrection song 'I will rise from the ashes of defeat'. Caught myself about to sing that line several times as it almost feels like that song in that part melodically only.
Love 'Gracefully Broken' - 'here I am, God, arms wide open, pouring out my life, gracefully broken' - great worship song, again directly to God as worship should be! Love Madison Cunningham's harmonies with Matt in Redemption Ground - just beautiful! Adds so much to the song.
Love the message in 'Still I will sing' - so important to remember and this one picks up the tempo from the previous songs.
Was looking forward to 'Place of Praise' and hearing Kim's vocals. She was lower in the mix and did a harmony in the chorus and that's it - so could have been anyone. I love her voice! But then again, this is Matt's album so I guess I shouldn't have expected more!
Musically, I hate to say it, but a lot of the songs do sound a bit the same. For me, no great stand outs in this album like Matt has produced in the past. However, that said - these songs do stand on their own merit with great lyrics and from a worshippers heart. A lot of the songs are what I would say are contemplative or reflective in nature.
