Got this and the new Trivium album on the same day. False Idol shreds and Sin in the Sentence is weak sauce. I'm in the minority where VoM's old stuff was a little much for me but this and Matriarch are great. I love the djenty sounds of this album, but sometimes some of the riffs seem right out of the Periphery playbook, not that it's a bad thing.Bottom line Very impressed with this album, if you are skeptical, listen to Overthrow or whistleblower.

Note: The Amazon Mp3 match has a bitrate of 256kbps which disappointed me because my previous purchases were at 320kbps

So brutally good. I've been waiting for this one and I'm ecstatic at how good it is. Every track is different and brings something new. So much range to the vocals, clean and unclean, soft and harsh. Fist in the air, sing/scream along choruses. And so much djenty goodness it makes me want to cry. If you liked Matriarch you must buy this one.

Definitely a must have for any veil of maya fan I listen to this album the most and I have all of them best thing since the common mans collapse in my opinion

I prefer Matriarch, just SLIGHTLY, and I had to tweak the balance to get the most punch out of the songs, but it's in the same echelon, no doubt.

Top tracks: Doublespeak, Echo Chamber, Pool Spray, Graymail, Citadel. Follow Me (if you really miss their old style).

Great albums. Comes as 2 discs. Unfortunately my B Side has weird markings in the grooves and caused it to crackle like no other.

VoM impress once again. This album is the next step in the evolution of the band and builds off of both what 'Matriarch' established as well as the band's early foundation. This experience is best heard - if you are a fan of metal, buy this album - you would be doing yourself a favor.

A guitarist I follow on YouTube did a cover of Fracture and I instantly checked out the rest of the album. Absolute banger.

Veil of Maya have made the album of their career, and I said that when the last record, Matriarch, dropped in 2015. This band have mastered thier craft, and I can't get enough of it. This is my album of 2017. Everyone should add this to their collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gute Weiterführung des "Matriarch" Stils
Reviewed in Germany on January 13, 2018
