Product Description
Product Description
The Palram - Canopia 6'-1' x 10'-1"x 6'-10" Mythos greenhouse kit provides the perfect growing environment for plants. The Mythos wall and roof panels are made of a nearly unbreakable polymer called polycarbonate that has the light transmission benefits of glass, but is lighter, stronger, and safer. The double walls diffuse intense sunlight that can stress plants and provide twice the heat retention of single panels for a more stable growing environment. The Mythos frame is made of rust-resistant aluminum mounted on a heavy-duty galvanized steel base for structural support. Other features include an integrated rain gutter to disperse the rainwater, and a roof vent and lockable hinged door with a magnetic catch to keep the air flowing and help control temperature and humidity. Palram - Canopia has the only DIY greenhouses on the market with a sliding panel structure, which creates better insulation, stronger resistance to wind and is easier to assemble. Prolong your growing season by starting from seed in the early spring and extend your plant growth beyond the first fall frost with this backyard greenhouse. With its easy assembly, durable materials, and effective features, the Palram - Canopia Mythos greenhouse is the natural choice.

Update: Well, we've had this greenhouse exactly one year and it is still as strong as it was the day we assembled it. The duct tape that is on the inside is still intact, however, the weather caused the duct tape on the outside of the panels to fray. I am gladly replacing the duct tape with flex seal spray in clear or another similar caulking. I just love this greenhouse. In the period of one year, we had snow, rain, high winds, many severe thunderstorms with hail with absolutely no damage to the panels. No leaking either. The door has remained strong on its hinges. It is still straight and the latch is still intact. The vent window is still straight and the vent arm is still strong.
Update #2: March 2015. Its now going into my 3rd year/season with this greenhouse and it hasn't changed a bit since the day we put it together. We've had some severe snow storms. 10 inches in one downfall a few weeks ago. Last year, during a bad storm with gale winds, the worst that happened was the little window atop blew off. It was simple to put back on, as it fits on a hinge. I added insurance on the greenhouse for a few dollars a month, it is now insured up to 900.00 for any damages excluding wind. I've already had my seeds growing for a month. Still loving this greenhouse. Still recommend it.
Update #3: February 2017. Its now going into my 5th year/season with this greenhouse and it is still fully intact. Nothing has changed. The original duct tape I placed around the plastic panels had decayed so I used the new gorilla duct tape that is available. Should last much longer than original duct tape did. Still loving this greenhouse, and still recommend it. My uncle purchased a little greenhouse similar to ours and it already blew apart. He should have bought the Palram!!

Construction was not easy and you need two people. Lay all the pieces out first. If something seems missing, look for it tucked inside of another piece. There were numerous broken plastic pieces. Palram is fantastic about sending replacements. Your base has to be level and there is no wiggle room when fitting pieces together. If they don't fit, something is off and you will have to go back a step or two and adjust. Nothing gets forced into place. If you are considering the extra louvered vent - do it. You must be able to move air in and out, and the roof opening with the door wide open is not enough on a hot day. We installed the extra louvered window upside down. It is made to go at ground level. No thank you. Any number of critters could crawl in there. There is no screen, so you basically have a two-foot square hole in the side - at ground level if you follow the directions.
Note on the vent/flap in the roof. Many people said it flies off at the slightest breeze. They must not have put it on correctly. It is actually pretty sturdy. So far, we have had 25-30 mph gusts and it does just fine.
I had no idea what a greenhouse entailed until I bought one. Unless you plan to do very little in it, you will need electricity and water. I have the 6' x 8' constructed with the back end against my house. My setup now has five (GFI protected) outlets and a water faucet all inside. I am currently setting up grow lights, mist system, heating mats, and a heatsink. My heatsink is a 32 gallon trash can with an aquarium heater. It's probably not enough, but my goal is to avoid the added cost of running a heater all winter. Time will tell. I live in USDA zone 7b; temps range from 13°F to 100°F. I will update this review periodically and hope it helps.
Reasons for only 4 stars: A split door would have been better. The extra side louvered window should not be a ground level IMHO. The anchor kit should be included, since not using it voids the warranty. Broken pieces were annoying because we had to wait for shipping. Palram is fantastic and ships right away, but quality control needs some improvement.

In our opinion you also need to purchase an automatic opener for this or any greenhouse. We added a Bayliss XL which was a little fiddly to fit (see separate review) but a good product.
We found, upon assembly, one of the diagonal bracing bars was missing from the package. This was not essential for initial assembly, so we installed the fixings ready for installation, and contacted the helpline. They sent the missing piece by return, free of charge of course, so we have no complaints here.
Overall, an excellent greenhouse for the money, which has already given us great pleasure, and we look forward to many years of service from it.
This one, the Palram In the 6ft x 4ft size is in my opinion very good quality. I was impressed when I saw the main aluminium extrusions, no bolts are left exposed on the external surfaces of the greenhouse. It was easy to put together single handed. There is one major proviso. The base MUST be mounted to a level and square “foundation”
I erected mine on a concrete yard area, I used a spirit level which appeared to show the base was level when laid out on the yard. All seemed fine when erected to half height until I tried to insert the polycarbonate sheets. Things did not quite fit as they should. When I re checked the base, I found it was not as level as I had at first thought. I discovered one corner was 25 mm lower than the other three. Once I had discovered this problem and chocked up the low corner, everything fell into place.
I must say I am impressed with this greenhouse and the way it fits together, but it MUST be on a level base.
The bolts are square headed, the heads fit into slots in the extrusions so there are no bolts on the outside which may rust after sometime.
I have only given 4 stars, I did not want give the full 5 stars because the seals on the window and the door do not fit perfectly. This is only a minor thing and is probably me being a tad finicky about the grrenhouse.
Once again I have to say I am impressed with it and would have no hesitation in re o mending this as a quality product. Well done Palram!
