Customers are mixed about the durability of the product. Some mention that it has a very durable design and build, with honeycomb rubber tires that are a lot more durable. The build quality is excellent, mostly metal, and the cables seem to be reinforced with a sturdy covering. However, others say that it struggles a bit to stay strong in the cold, the automatic breaking system can be touchy, and reliability seems to be poor. Some customers also mention that the handle bar for lifting the scooter is flimsy and the handlebars are now starting to sag due to wear and tear on the internal components.

Customers are mixed about the smoothness of the product. Some mention that the back tires offer a very smooth ride, while others say that it has a bumpy ride that may cause the inner column to collapse. The solid rubber tires make the ride less smooth/soft, compared to pneumatic tires.

"...Also, the accelerator feels kind of awkward to use and requires a twisting motion, which can be uncomfortable to maintain for several minutes...." Read more

"...ProTips:As with most 2-wheeled vehicles, it's easier to balance at high speeds...." Read more

The best built e-scooter from a great company
4 Stars
The best built e-scooter from a great company
I bought this mainly because I live right on The Bay and there are a lot of nice paved coastal nature paths around me that I enjoy cruising around on and enjoying the outdoors. I can cover a lot of ground with this and have a blast doing so! I also bought it to use to to go various eateries close by and run quick errands without having to take my car. This is perfect for places that are a bit too far to walk, but still too close that it would be a shame to driver your car to.I'm a Boosted Board electric skateboard owner also and while that goes a lot faster, the Boosted Board cannot really go on the nature paths due to the fact that the paths are a bit rough in general. The Glion however is perfect as the rubber wheels handle the slightly rough road surfaces quite well. You still do feel a lot of the vibrations but not as much as on a skateboard. After a while, you learn to grasp the handlebar a bit loosely rather than tightly so your arms are not absorbing all of the vibrations. An important part of my decision was that I wanted hard rubber tires and not inflatable ones. I've had inflatable tires before and they can get punctured and it's also a pain to keep them to the correct inflation pressure all the time. The Glion's honeycomb rubber tires are a lot more durable and you never have to worry about putting air in them, yet they still provide some shock absorption so you get the best of both worlds. The Glion is also a bit less expensive than other scooters yet seems better built, with better customer service. They were very helpful with any questions that I had and I even heard directly back from the CEO/Co-founder. I had also emailed a question to a competitor (UScooter) and that went totally ignored. The other e-scooter companies lie about their specs, battery, range, high speeds, etc.. not Glion!I also tried the Segway miniPRO | Smart Self Balancing Personal Transporter with Mobile App Control (Black) but the Glion is way more fun as it goes faster and is a lot more convenient for commuting and just a better more sturdy design and form factor.I do wish the Glion went a few MPH faster although for many, it is probably fast enough (15 mph max although you can probably get faster down a hill). I'm quite experienced however and would like the option to somehow unlock a faster speed, if this went 20 MPH, it would be a perfect 5 star product for me.I like that the Glion can stand vertically. It makes for more convenient storage upright in a closet if I want to put it away. The dolly feature is also really convenient (they patented it!), I can even use the scooter to commute with ease. Don't underestimate how convenient both of these are! Yesterday, I was able to charge the scooter folded up and standing vertical inside of a restaurant while dining. I just put it in a corner and the employees there said they didn't even really notice it. When wheeling it behind you, it's very discreet. You will be able to bring it in to more places and charge it more places than other e-scooters because of this. The built in LED headlight also worked well when I tried this at night. Others saw me quite well so that is a good safety feature. That the Glion also comes with the cover bag and bell are added nice touches. This can also lock up in a bike rack, just like a bike. With the Glion, you're getting a quality made product with high quality lithium ion battery and not some unknown battery, from a customer service focused USA (Nebraska) based company, at competitive price.
