Value: Exceptional value, IMO. I've been purchased different cards over my gaming life and I've yet to find something at such a reasonable cost that delivers in this way.
5/5 here.
Performance: I've run several modern titles with this card at 1080p. Most games will run reasonably well up to High settings (50-60FPS for more demanding games at High). Some games are totally playable at Ultra settings. On this card I've0 played Apex Legends, CS:GO, The Outer Worlds, Gears 5, FF15 and more. I've not had hiccups with any of them, except Outer Worlds, which is likely due to optimization by the developers and not due to the GPU/card itself. I've not tested any games at higher resolutions, however there are some reviewers on YouTube that have tested this card with higher resolution/refresh rates, so you can check those out to get an idea. Performance per value or performance for mid-range cards it's a 5/5.
Quality: The card feels sturdy and heavy. The two fans and the casing are decent quality. The backplate is a nice black-coated metal. It feels very solid and I've had absolutely no issues with it. In fact, I was pretty rough with it when installing it in my motherboard and thought for sure I may have even broken the card. But, it was totally fine despite the unintentional abuse and has given me absolutely no problems. I've not had any stability issues at all. UPDATE YOUR DRIVERS and you should not have any issues with display or stability. 5/5 for this.
Noise Level: This is the category that I have to be honest and give it a ding. This card can get VERY loud. On certain games that are optimized poorly or are very demanding ramp the fans get to full-speed and it sounds like a vacuum cleaner. Keep in mind, you can reduce maximum decibel level or fan speed in Radeon software, but you need to consider how this will impact the temperature of the card. 3/5 for this.
Temperature: Thus far the highest temps I've gotten the card to with demanding games at high settings was around 78 celsius. This is well within the acceptable range for a GPU under full load. So, despite the fans being loud, they seem to do a good job of controlling the temperature of the card. This is in a closed case with three 120mm exhaust fans, so the temps are pretty good considering the environment it's in. 5/5
Overclockable? Yes, I currently have the GPU clocked at 1400Mhz via Radeon's software; this is with a slight undervolt and it's been completely stable. No crashes after being tested on multiple games at high-ultra settings for hours of play. The temperature of the card that I stated above is with the overclock too. Thus, I'm confident that most will be able to achieve a stable OC of 1400Mhz. I have NOT OC'd the VRAM speeds because I don't think it will improve performance any in this context.
OVERALL: I would recommend this card to anyone looking for a well-performing card at the lowest cost. Keep in mind that it is not a $1000 card, so don't expect that level of performance. For most games at 1080p you will have a great experience, but I can't speak for higher resolutions because I haven't personally tested them. The only caveat of the card is the noise level, but you may be able to circumvent this by lowering the dB threshold within the Radeon software. GREAT PRICE-TO-PERFORMANCE!
In regards to the RX 570-4GB, I had intended on replacing it immediately but I am amazed at its performance. I went to download Doom (2016) from Steam and I kept getting the "Black Screen of Death." I tied every solution possible and nothing worked. Then someone recommended that I check for any new Driver updates. I went to AMD's page and downloaded the "Install and Update." AMD downloaded the new "Adrenaline" Driver, a new software on their latest cards. I relaunched Doom (2016) and it runs perfectly. I am completely blown away at how well the RX 570-4GB handles Doom's graphics. This card really is the best bang for the buck out there; I really cannot say enough positive things about it. If you are doing a custom build then I highly recommend the RX 570 but be sure to update to the latest drivers; this is a must in order for the card to function with all games. I also highly recommend saving up the extra money and getting the intel i5 instead of the i3. The i5 9400F and the RX-570 are a great combo
I left the original review below and I wont adjust it so it stays for the record. I am amending this to 4 stars instead of 5 & altering the headline. Here's why...
I never bought PowerColor brand and I did research before pulling the trigger on it originally, as you can see below. I decided to go for it and if it didnt work well I could return it. Well after occassionally crashing on 3 separate times over 3 weeks I decided to do the return while it was still within the 30 days. Initially I debated between this, the cheapest 570 or the sapphire nitro+ 590 which was about $85 more. I still may do that but after further review it seems nvidia released a card that generally outperforms the AMD 590 cards, even the best one from sapphire. It likely wouldnt be night and day difference (namely speaking about the gtx 1660 card which runs around $230...generally the same price as the 590). I now have a tough decision to make...the 590 probably costing $20-30 a year more to run than the nvidia cards as the 590 cards draw substabtially more power. My PSU can handle it (700w) either way. But from the specs I've seen, the gtx 1660 outperforms the 590 by 5-10% on average for most games, especially the newer ones, and while less ddr at 6gb vs. The 590's 8gb, I'm only running 1080p graphics and both will handle that resolution fine (the 8gb may help on a few games and 1440p resolution but the results are nearly identical at 1440p and slightly better at 1080p for the gtx 1660 card). Typically I've likely nvidia better but I'll go with the best bang I can get for the buck. Sadly this powercolor 570 ended up being good except for the hiccups noted & I decided to go with something else...and spending around $100 more (the sad part). You do get what you pay for. And if you want a 570 I would suggest the sapphire pulse 570 4gb card for around $10-15 more than this card. But for me if I am going to soend more then I think I'll just bump it up to the 590 or gtx 1660 (leaning the 1660 right now). Hope this helps explain the update and revision to the score. A 4 star is being generous but the thing didnt fail in me. Just randomly crashed 3x in 3 weeks and I'd rather not deal with that or have issues down the line when I couldn't return it...
I debated whether to go for this, the cheapest 4GB RX570 card I could find on Amazon or spring for the much better sapphire 8gb RX590 nitro for a little less than $100 more. After contemplating and researching both for about a week, I decided to get this one for a little over half the price of the other. I'm upgrading from an EVGA 3gb nvidia 1050sc that I got for the same price a few months ago but now goes for $30 MORE today! Which is just crazy as the rx570 is easily better. Back then the prices were reversed so I went with the evga card. Well I decided to use the evga card in another desktop that I built a few years ago as it has a paltry 2gb nvidia 730 & badly needs a better video card.
Thus in the end I opted for this powercolor 4gb rx570 over the 2x priced sapphire 8gb 590 nitro. It was a breeze to install but definitely need to download the updated drivers from AMD as the stock drivers with the card are a bit dated now and some games require a newer version. I am very happy with my decision even though if I could afford the sapphire 590 I would prefer that as it's definitely the better card. But this little guy packs a mean punch for half the cost and imho best bang for the buck.
Sidenote: audio DOES come through thebhdmi port contrary to what some others have reported. Perhaps they did have a defunct card or maybe the hdmi cable was an issue. I had an hdmi extender cable i was using with my previous video card and no audio came through that one...but this rx570 card didnt even recognize that cable and I had a blank screen until I removed the cable extender. Then it worked great WITH sound.
