Routing my peripherals through a powered usb hub fixed the issue entirely, with not one instance of a connectivity issue since switching over - a record of about 3 months. Check your motherboard's usb specifications, and even if it claims to supply 1.0A, recognize that that might be shared across the devices on a single USB controller... Buying a separate powered hub is probably a good idea.
Pros:
-As advertised, the Hyperflux mouse is very lightweight. Comment on that at end..
-Grippy sides feel very comfortable using palm grip style.
-My rigorous field tests indicate that the mouse pad is spill proof, and easy to clean. The whole mouse pad appears to be sealed, except for the USB port.
-Soft side of mouse pad is to die for.
-The cable is very flexible, easy to route around corners, and has a distinct texture. It's nice to be able to figure out which cable is which at the cluttered USB hub.
Cons:
-I miss how the Mamba 2012 curves inward toward the bottom / underneath the mouse, as it has a more secure feel when lifting; but the reality is that the HyperFlux weighs so little that it's not necessary. Just a mental thing, transitioning from a heavier mouse.
-Mamba 2012 had a visual indicator for currently selected sensitivity step, Hyperflux does not. If the Razer app doesn't have foreground permissions (like when most games are running fullscreen), you can't tell which step you're on if you bump it.
-DPI is so high that setting good / sensible sensitivity levels is difficult. Set limit of 5 sensitivity levels is somewhat frustrating. Comment on that below..
Additional Comments:
-With the weight, it feels noticeably more responsive than the Mamba 2012 which it is replacing. I never thought that taking 40g (30%) of the weight off would make such a difference. In fast pasted FPS games, I've noticed that I tend not to overshoot targets anymore.
-On the DPI / sensitivity level topic: I play some older RTS games from the early 2000's which don't have sensitivity adjustments, so I need a 400 dpi setting at the lowest, plus a few others so they feel better with modern monitor resolutions. That leaves 1 or 2 levels for the entire medium-high range of DPI, which again, some games can be adjusted that broadly, and some can't - even newer ones.
I have always preferred wireless mice, but they have always had huge trade offs in the past such as being heavy, poor battery life, and connection issues. The hyperflux is really, really cool. Since the mouse has a capacitor instead of a battery, it's very light weight (96 grams) and never needs to be charged. The trade off here is that since it doesn't have a battery, you have to use it with the mouse mat so it can get power unless you want to plug in the USB cord for wired mode. For me it's a non-issue since I don't plan on travelling with it. Some people are complaining about the size of the mouse mat, but it's more than big enough for me as I typically use a steelseries qck pad (normal size) and this is bigger than that. The lowest DPI setting I use for FPS games is 800, so I'm not going to run out of mouse pad space, but your mileage may vary depending on what DPI you use.
I have had zero lag with this thing and it never loses connection. Some reviews here say that you can't use it anywhere near anything metallic and I think that is a little overboard. It will probably have issues on all metal desk if it is sitting on top of metal, but my pull out keyboard tray has metal guide rails that are within a mm of the mouse pad and it has no issues with them at all. In fact, the majority of my desk is metal that is all in very close proximity to the mouse pad. Just make sure what the pad sits on is not metal and I'm sure you will be fine.
For me this is pretty much the perfect mouse. It's expensive, but it combines the best of everything I am looking for with very few trade offs in my opinion. I hope they keep it up with this direction and sensor choice as it just an awesome experience from form to function.

+++++++++++++++
After having tucked this mouse away (without the charging mousepad), and having been through a gauntlet of other crappy mouses, I decided to pull this one out again and literally wipe off the dust from it. To my utter shock and dismay, all I had to do to get the mouse I wanted was to clean this one. LOL. The right-click works again for extended periods; Reinhardt mains rejoice. The drama I poured out in my previous edit seems to be uncalled for. Woops :L
Just goes to show how oblivious one can be when it comes to the physical side of technology. How cleaning something will prolong the life of it. I genuinely missed using his mouse because the feel of it was pretty much everything I wanted in a mouse; relatively big, with a deep tread and hard, rigid clicks on the scroll wheel, and programmable buttons. I will once again be using this mouse (again, without the charging mousepad) and will be sure to append any more details here.
EDIT
=======================================
Right click became unreliable about a month or 2 before this review. It works if you click it once, but if you need to hold down the right click for any extended period of time, it will not serve you well. I wanted to believe it was some other issue other than the mouse. Tried different drivers for the mouse and my GPU, reinstalled Synapse software a few times, switched to wired mode, disabled Synapse... Nothing was making a difference. Tried other mouses (yes, that's how you spell it when talking about computers) and to my utter dismay, the Razer Mamba Hyperflux has failed me after just one year of use. I see why this company has the reputation it does.
Based off this experience and everything else I've read on the internet, I will never buy another Razer mouse.
Reinhardt mains, find a different mouse.

I have a stupidly specific physical setup for my desk and this kind of tech is just what I needed, at about HALF the price of the Logitech Powerplay. A wireless mouse that doesn't get in the way of anything, because, well, it's wireless. All the performance you'd need with all the adjustable RGB options you could possibly want. For me, it was just to turn them all off. Which can actually be easier said than done, especially when it comes to turning off the power indicators. But I got what I needed without any of the excess RGB and it works like a glove. A bit lighter than I had hoped (I like my mice quite heavy) but it's a compromise I will settle for.
I'm also very particular about my scroll wheel; this one is fairly hard and clicky, including the click down, with the grooves and indentations I like, making for a great mouse wheel experience.
Highly recommended if you don't plan on bringing your mouse anywhere else, and you want gaming-grade performance with a wireless mouse that doesn't require any attention to charging or turning the device on and off.
Pros: -predictably good performance
-tactile scroll wheel experience
-don't have to waste time paying attention to charging (duh) and turning the mouse on and off
-fully programmable/optional RGB
Cons: mouse is lighter than desired
