I love this thing. Feels right in my hand, doesn't obstruct the fingerprint sensor, and the buttons still feel clicky. Works with my non-glass screen protector just fine.

I've had accidental drops on more than one occasion that had me scared to look at my screen but no cracks as of yet thanks to this bad boy.

If I had to put a downside I would say it's a little rough to get the case off the phone, but that just means it's in there good.

Are we talking about the same case? This case fits my S9 perfectly (actually quite tight). It is thick and robust, recommended by PC Magazine in one of their roundups. It is one step below the military grade super case in that roundup. I haven't tried dropping my phone, but I have confidence it would survive just fine. If it fell face down on a flat surface the lip at each end would keep the face from contact. With this thick case, the phone will not fit into a holster designed for the S9. I am using an S9 Plus holster by BOMEA, which has a little extra room, product B071VFJ7TF.

While the case is technically Qi compatible (and there is no metal in it to block wireless charging), the thickness keeps the phone about 3/16 in. above the charger, which really slows down the charging, both with the Samsung wireless charger and with that of a third party. All night on the charger brought it up to 84%. So I've given up wireless charging - not a biggie for me.

I have been using griffin cases for the last 5 years. I never had any problems with them, always have protected my phone very well. I am very disappointed to see that they do not make a case anymore that covers the screen. There is no protective layer over the camera and nothing to protect the charging port, speaker, and headphone jack from dust or water. I understand that the s9 is "water resistant" and "dust resistant" but i work outdoors all year and would rather know my phone is sealed up and full protected inside its case. I trust the $7 case i bought to replace this more than id trust this to protect my phone!

As someone who is very accident prone and generally just very clumsy to the point where I have fallen over with my phone in my hand before. I knew that I would need a strong case for my phone to protect it from me and since I use my phone all the time and it goes with me everywhere, it needed to be long-lasting.

While it has obtained a few scuffs and scratches over the years that I have had it, the phone underneath remains perfectly fine and in very good condition. It even gives room for you to put a screen protector on as well unlike some of the cases out there whilst also still feeling like it is providing protection.

It is so strong, that once on the phone, I found it incredibly difficult to get it back off again which means it isn't going to fall off the phone if you drop it and the thick bezel around the sides means that the screen won't make contact with the surface it falls on. This phone has survived me falling down a hill and smacking my phone into the concrete as I put my hands out to stop my fall. The only damage came to the screen protector which is the point of having one. The biggest aesthetic wear it has suffered is actually smoothness on the back on parts where I hold it all the time.

It has a nice sloped area to make it easy to find the fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone easily and makes plenty of room for the camera and flash. The buttons have always been responsive and never an issue. You may have to press a little firmer, but if you do then it becomes so natural you won't even notice and I think it softens a little over time.

This case makes me feel like my phone is indestructible and with so much glass on this phone, this is what you want.

I honestly can't say anything bad about it except that if you regularly need to get to the SIM card port, it may be a nuisance taking it out of the case all the time. Would definitely buy it again if it ever gets too worn or damaged but I believe it would take a lot for that to happen. I like that it is so protective whilst also looking more low profile than some of the heavy-duty cases and doesn't add too much bulk to the phone.

The case is nice and slim and has great access to all the ports and fingerprint sensor etc.
It's apparently tough, but I've not tested/dropped the phone to personally verify this aspect.

My main disappointment is that the case claims to have a "Non-slip grip exterior".
The case is made of a hard plastic and whilst it appears to have a slight texture/coating to the exterior which gives a satin (as opposed to shiny/glossy) finish, i would still envision that it could still slip out when holding one handed as the grip is not significantly improved.

I would have preferred the edges to have a rubber finish as this would have been much grippier.

I have the Griffin Survivor Core case for my Galaxy S6, which has rubberised edges. That case was very grippy and meant i never dropped the phone over the 3 years i owned it.
I wish Griffin did the Core for the S9 as in my opinion was much grippier and therefore better case.
