Obviously everyone has their own preferences when it comes to music, sound and everything else. WIth that disclaimer done, and after two weeks obsessively replaying some favorite tracks over different speakers, these Edifier speakers are my pick from the five pairs of (Bluetooth, active) speakers that I bought in the $400-$700 range to test out:- Edifier S2000pro- AudioEngine A5+- AudioEngine HD6- 2x Marshall Woburn (rev 1) forming a stereo pair (using a Sunwaytek Bluetooth receiver)- Vanatoo Transparent One Encore(The pair of Marshall Woburn speakers was an odd idea that resulted from me already having one of them and liking its sound.)To my ears, there are two pairs of speakers in this set that sound equally great and noticeably above the rest: the Edifier and the Vanatoo. I ended up keeping the Edifier because they cost $400 rather than $600, but the Vanatoo have two advantages: they are much smaller and (for me) much more visually appealing. As mentioned earlier, both sound noticeably better than the other speakers I tested. There is something about these Edifier (I suspect it is basically an equalizer "trick", but then again I am definitely not an expert in audio) that highlights and brings to the front the voice of a singer -- even more so for female voices, I believe -- that is extremely pleasing to me. The Vanatoo are just as great to listen to as the Edifier, music "comes alive" (sorry for the cliché) with them, too. The only (slight) drawback for me is that they at times seemed not to fully match the pleasure I get out of the voices with the Edifier, but this really is something I am not nearly as confident about as when I write that the Edifier and the Vanatoo are noticeably better than the other options I listed. I actually struggled to distinguish the Edifier and the Vanatoo when I prevented myself from seeing which speaker my phone was connecting to, while that didn't happen when comparing either of these speakers with the others I listed above. The other speakers I tested -- both models from AudioEngine as well as the Marshall Woburn paired up using the Sunwaytek bluetooth receiver -- were fine but the sound was less pleasant to my ears. I would single out a negative trait of both AudioEngine models: I like being able to have some control over bass/treble in the speakers (rather than having to use the EQ in my phone's music app) and the AudioEngine lack simple bass/treble controls.Back to the Edifier, the preset EQs are very subtle, which is another way of saying you will struggle to notice their effect. (I keep them in the "vocal" preset EQ mode, but I don't believe that is required to get the very pleasant effect I described above.) What I did and recommend is playing around with the bass/treble knobs in the back of the primary speaker to suit your taste; that (in particular, increasing the bass) had a huge impact in my enjoyment of the speakers.I can think of two downsides to the Edifier, which are both reasons to consider getting the more expensive Vanatoo instead. The first is that -- with the exception of the pair of Marshall Woburns -- the Edifier are noticeably larger than any of the alternatives listed above. (Compared to the Vanatoo, they are positively huge.) Second, and as mentioned above, I also happen to find the Edifier quite ugly (I like neither the angled front nor the wood panels on the sides). As I listened to the Edifier and the other speakers I ordered, I found myself trying to convince myself the sound of the others was as pleasant to my ears as the sound of the Edifier for that reason... In the end I realized that the fact I was doing that so often really meant that (with the exception of the 50% more expensive Vanatoo) the Edifier sounded substantially better to me. :)Note: I listen mainly to "world music", almost always featuring vocals over acoustic or amplified instrumental accompaniment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Altavoces de altura, sin decepción alguna.
Reviewed in Mexico on November 30, 2019
Unos altavoces de lujo, suena muy bien. Agudos ricos, medios ricos y bajos bien definidos, potentes y profundos.
