The headsets I tested:
Turtle Beach 600 (wireless) - Battery life was great, Sound was good but felt like it was of a mono sound, comfort level was not good for me - Headset didn't feel loud enough for me and left ear started hurting for me. I know everyone has different ears this is just my experience with them. Did have a EQ type feature to adjust the volume. Also chat wasn't working well, players saying I sounded like a robot
Turtle Beach 700 (wireless) - Battery life was ok, not as great as 600. Sound felt low and wasn't enough for me, did feel like it had better durability than the 600. Took awhile to charge. 3 star rating Did have a EQ type feature to adjust the volume
Steel Series Artic 3 - (Wired) Sound was good but had to use the turtle beach adapter, did not like the fact that plugging it straight to the controller didn't work well. Using the adapter didn't bother me and it work fine after that. Comfort level was amazing most comfortable headsets. Sound was good but didn't feel like it was strong enough. 4 star (I am considering buying the wireless headset version along with still using A40)
Now if you're looking for the best of the best and a great gaming experience I strongly suggest A40+M80. I read a lot of reviews and was disappointment because most of them was opinions and not experience. here is my experience
Comfort is great can do an all day game session without ears hurting (5-8 hrs) Not the best from what i tested but good
3 EQ settings on the M80 (good for if you want more bass etc..)
Feels really durable
Sound is great. Exactly what I was looking for to hear footsteps etc.. The best sound out of the tested headsets above, games tested for footsteps and gun fire and overall sound - Fortnite, COD Black Ops 4, Forza Horizon 4, MK XL, Battlefield. When I played battle field it felt like I was in war for sure.
The M80 volume button and volume adjust from game and voice feel great.
Noise cancelling is great, I can't hear anything with the volume turn up about 3/4 (usually I have to play with it all the way up, not with these)
No problems with the headsets, voice comes in clear and I can hear players just fine
5 star rating. This headset fit my needs
PROS:
- A40 sound is amazing. I play a lot of shooter based games and I can finally heard ALL the sounds I was meant to hear. Footsteps and other player created sounds are vivid and I can finallly tell what direction they are coming from.
- Comfort!!! These things fit soooo nicey to your head and ears. There is no cramping or pinching and they do not get nearly as hot on your head as other headsets.
- Build, The quality here is first rate. These are heavy...In a good way. They are built like a tank and meant to last. I see no corners being cut.
- Gaming USA followed up with 3 emails so far to make sure I was happy with the product...so far yes I am!!
- Gaming USA shipping time was extremely fast even with Prime.
Cons:
- While the sound is crisp and clean I wish I could have a little louder volume control. I'm guessing that this is somewhat limited due to the fact that you are using your contollers battery to power both the controller and the mixamp for the headset. Small con but still one I needed to mention
- Packaging, while the box it comes in really has no significant bearing on the actual product, the one that I got gave me an initial scare. It was pretty beat up. I knew that these were most likely a return so gave this a pass since the product itself seemed to be in top notch shape with no signs of wear or use.
I will update this review if things change but so far these have been a great purchase.
The problem is with the mixamp. You can plug the headset into the controller using the auxiliary connection they provide and the headphones are just fine. But you lose the entire reason you bought this headset.
I contacted Astro and they were beyond useless. One of the worst customer service experiences that I have ever had.
I will say the headphones are amazing. They sound great and are light weight. But 2 brand new headsets with the same problem. Tried them on 2 different Xbox ones and 3 controllers. Did the trouble shooting. Headset is great. Mixamp is bad. 2 in a row on a brand new product? No thanks I'm done with them. Second set is being sent back today.

Since then I have went and got another set as a lot of headsets didn't actually match upto this.
Sound quality is brilliant and game quality is beyond superb.
In pubg you can literally hear the butterfly's fart as you start a firefight. And no sneaking up either.
Recommended highly if your a gamer.
