I really like this mouse. I had no idea how much more comfortable (and totally worth it) gaming mice feel compared to cheapo regular mice. After using a $15 Microsoft mouse for a while, this one feels very premium and plush. It is not hard to feel all of the engineering that has been put into this product to make the design feel so good. It's hard to describe the design. The plastic is slightly soft to touch, and the mouse really feels like it was designed to fit my hand. Buttons are the right amount of clicky, requiring minimal pressure to register a click. I occasionally find myself pressing the right mouse button when web browsing etc. No idea why. It's probably just me. The high-tech (and perhaps slightly evil) looking design will go with beastly and tame looking computers alike.
Switching to a gaming mouse also made me appreciate the very pleasant very accurate raw sensor input. I wasn't very sure how much I would use the extra buttons, but I have found some good use for it, although it took me several months to do so. In Battlefield 4, I use one of the thumb buttons to throw grenades and another one to switch tac lights and laser lights on/off and to switch adjustable sights and scopes. It's very convenient and felt natural within days of play. The fancy sensitivity settings may be useful to some, but I make minimal use of it. I play at a fairly high sensitivity compared to most people it seems (~1500) and I switch to a higher sensitivity in BF4 when using a tank's cannon or a transport helicopter's machine gun. I have just set the DPI-drop button to "cycle" between sensitivities, but because I use only these two settings, it simply toggles.
I think this is the perfect gaming mouse for me right now. Any more features sound extraneous to me. Yes, I purchased this over the G502, G602 and more. The number of configurable buttons seemed a little low to me as a newcomer. But I soon realized that it's the right amount for first-person shooters, which I play frequently.
Here is a rundown of every part of the mouse:
Tracking: Flawless. No lag, dropped inputs, or skips. As expected from any wired mouse.
Left/right click: Quick and effortless. Not mushy at all. Actuation point is right at the top. Very little pressure is required to click.
Side buttons: Also great. Mushier feeling, but the actuation point is still at the top. Feel good to use and don't feel cheap.
Size/weight: The mouse is on the larger side, and medium/light weight (108 grams according to Logitech). Feels natural and comfortable in my hand. I have smaller hands and use a palm grip.
Scroll wheel: My only (very) minor complaint. The scroll wheel works, but feels cheap. It has a lot of friction to it, meaning if you flick it it will not carry any momentum and will stop immediately. More of a personal preference thing, but I don't mind it. It may get broken in over time or it may not. Regardless the scroll wheel is inconsequential in the grand scheme of things, and it's not bad, just different from what I'm used to.
Overall this mouse absolutely blew me away and delighted me. It's an incredible all-purpose gaming mouse that I would recommend to anyone looking for a cheap solution that also provides incredible value and functionality (I bought it for $35). It easily stands up to my $60 mouse and is superior in some aspects.
The mouse is very comfortable, which is something I really like. I use this mouse for several hours a day and my hands never gets cramps nor does my wrist start hurting. I use two different grip styles depending on what I'm doing. For browsing or normal computer usage I use a tip grip style where I grip the mouse with my fingertips. When held like this, the DPI shift button (the button on the left side where your thumb would be) is out of my reach and I have to stretch my thumb out a bit to reach it (though I don't really need that button if I'm not playing anything). When I'm playing a game I grip the mouse fully with my palm. It fits almost perfectly within my hand like this and I can reach all of the buttons easily enough except for the DPI shift button. My thumb sits just enough on the button for me to press it, though I definitely think it would be nice have that button a little further back to make pressing it a little easier. The scroll wheel has a rough texture to make it easier to roll and it's notched wheel clicks quietly when rolled. When the scroll wheel is pressed it's definitely the loudest button, with a loud thud sound happening on press. That being said, it's not that much louder than the other buttons and I wouldn't consider this a downside.
The mouse is pretty customizable too. Logitech's Gaming Software, which this mouse automatically installed when I plugged it in, can be used to easily customize all of it's settings. This includes the glowing "G" on the top of the mouse. You can set it to glow solidly, use a breathing effect, or turn it off altogether. It has 5 different DPI settings that can be switched between on the fly which can be customized using the aforementioned software. You can even set control profiles for specific applications or games, which is pretty neat, though there are only a few games where I actually use this functionality.
Performance wise the mouse does very well. I normally play RPG games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim or MMOs like Guild Wars 2, and the mouse works great for those. I play FPS games like DOOM or Overwatch every now and then and it stays precise even when doing fast swipes. I can't really speak for the high DPI settings. The mouse can go up to 4000 DPI but that is much too excessive for me, so I stick to around 400-1200 depending on the game.
Lastly, I think the mouse looks pretty awesome, with a sleek profile and the Glowing "G" it's definitely got a lot going for it aesthetically if you ask me.
Overall this is an outstanding mouse and I would definitely recommend it. My only complaint is that the DPI shift button could be improved. Other than that I have been very satisfied with this mouse.
