All three locks are on the original batteries ten months later (more on this below), and only the oft-used front door has dropped below 80% battery. Our home automations cycle these locks regularly, and we've never had issues with lost connection or failed network commands.
Some cons: Adjustment and proper "tuning" of the door is absolutely critical. If the placement of the deadbolt is not absolutely perfect, you will be miserable -- the motor is not strong and it will eat through the battery in mere days. This was my initial experience before I educated myself on the experiences of others. I can absolutely confirm that adjustment and clearance must be correct; any significant contact with the deadbolt striker during mechanism movement will cause problems. Adjust the position of the closed door at-rest during the installation, and take the time to get it right, and you'll be happy.
Separately; the plastic on the keypad face is faring poorly in direct sun. At this rate, the plastic face will require replacement next year; it is already degrading and flaking around the edges. That's normal in my desert southwest environment, though disappointing.
Overall , we've been very happy with this purchase. Once we had it set up properly, they have worked every time, reliably, and without fuss or tinkering. The best measure of a smart-home integration success relates to how much time you spend supporting your tech. I've spent virtually none (remote user code changes via z-wave network excepting). It just works.
The locks look good too, especially from the outside. On the inside of the door, they are a bit larger than many others I have seen, but I have had such great success with my first one that I wasnt going to try anything else.
I do not use the built in alarm function because I have it automatically connected to my in home alarm.
Also, interestingly, once I had it set up in Ring, I did not have to do anything more, my Alexa immediately recognized it allowing us to ask Alexa remotely if the door is locked or have Alexa Lock it. It will NOT unlock the door for safety and security reasons.
Pros: sleek, modern, Alexa compatible, Ring compatible, numerous codes allowed, good fit on door, easy manual lock, key option, can lock/unlock from Ring App, an option to disarm Ring when door is unlocked using code (or not disarm & Ring alarm keypad must be used to disarm), one touch lock, no movement when installed (we've had this problem w/ previous locks), box included multiple strike plates as well as larger than regular strike plate, user friendly instructions, video instructions option, physical key, seems better made than other deadbolts & smart locks we've had in the past, the matte black color is gorgeous.
Cons: automatic/electric lock is definitely loud (even compared to our previous Simplisafe lock), every so often the keypad won't respond to touch, key tumbler is a little loose & requires tumbler to be pressed in while key is being removed (there's a great YT video from a locksmith on what to do), does not auto lock when Ring is armed (Simplisafe does auto lock when armed & it is a missed feature), more expensive than many counterparts/competitors.
