Top reviews from the United States

Before this I had the Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum. Useless on carpets but worked well and for a long time on my tile. I upgraded to the Roborock for the carpet. Although it worked on carpet, getting it to map the entire house and then setting no-go lines was a nightmare. The Roborock went back. The Xiaomi Mi is doing a bang-up job keeping the garage floor clean!

I looked at the Roombas but don't like that they don't work in the dark.

Then came the D7. Wow. Mapped the entire house on the first go. All no-go lines work. All zones created without issue and now I can send it to any room, location, or zone I'd like and it does an outstanding job. Even does well on carpet and gives you pretty decent carpet lines.

BTW - single floor Florida home with no kids and no clutter. A robot vacuum's dream!

Where it lacks:

1) On occasion it get's CLOSE to the dock, but never docks. This does not happen often, maybe once every 20 or so times.

2) Voice commands to send it to a zone using Alexa or Google Home (without needing your phone) is desperately needed.

3) Need to be able to create no-go areas and not just use lines. This would make editing easier.

4) I hit the limit with no-go lines. They need to make that unlimited.

5) When Zone Cleaning, you need to be able to select more than one zone. This should also be available when creating schedules.

The good news is that all my gripes can be solved with software and firmware so let's get a move on Neato!!

Overall... VERY PLEASED and would buy again and recommend to a friend.

Hope some of this helps.

The media could not be loaded.
Used it for less than a week and did nothing but get stuck all over the house. It got stuck on the bar stools and even in wide open spaces against the walls. The video shows how it was a wide open space where it spend at least a minute just going back and forth

I don’t know what’s up with these negative reviews. This vacuum can handle our whole house in one go and leaves the floors clean. I mean, it maps your house with laser beams!

I bought the D7 a month ago from Bed Bath and Beyond and have been very happy with it. I’ve been giving it almost daily use. It keeps the floors clean after the usuall assault from our small children. Cheerios, sand, grass, food, bits of paper and other mess just gets sucked right up.

The app is decently designed, but it would be nice if there was a clear step-by-step guide for first time use. The vacuum can map your house and has the ability to remember the layout. You should specify this through the app early on, otherwise it will clean in a decent way, but not at top efficiency.

To be clear, if the robot is aware of your home’s layout it will vacuum in a very efficient way. I watched the vacuum enter a room, pause to scan, and then distinguish between open spaces and the edges. It will move in straight rows across open space and then gingerly treat the corners and edges of furniture. It doesn’t plow to the wall at full speed like an older Roomba did. The app also allows you to draw “no-go lines” on your home’s floor plan, analogous to the Roomba’s invisible wall.

As far as clean up, it really is a good vacuum. We have a mix of hardwood floors and carpet and it handles both well. I haven’t seen any scratches. The floors feel clean afterwards. I can schedule it or start it away from the house. After each cleaning, it sends a map of your house to you phone indicating where it’s cleaned and where it missed (usually under the kids craft table which is a jungle of chair legs.)

Networking and Wi-Fi set up was a bit finicky. It involves connecting your phone a Wi-Fi network the vacuum creates, opening the app and then choosing your home network and entering in the password. Inexplicably the first two times I tried, the robot wouldn’t connect but on the third try it was fine and has been since. To be honest it was probably my router. The whole process of networking is a bit frustrating and involved resetting the vacuum a few times. But everything worked in the end and the convenience of being able to use an app and receive firmware updates seems worth it.

Yes it’s is expensive. Yes a normal vacuum is cheaper. But I can turn this thing on, take my kids to the park and come back to a clean home. The value comes in more free time and I’m planning on keeping this vacuum for a few years to receive the payoff. The brushes, batteries and filters can all be replaced.

I’ll give it five stars because it does what it claims; clean your house in a through and methodical way. If you can get past the Wi-Fi set up, which isn’t really that difficult, then you’ll love this thing.

Buy a Roomba. Neato is producing a faulty product and providing poor support. It’s not worth your hard earned dollars.
