Not very energy efficient or reliable to the point it is unusable

Not very energy efficient or reliable to the point it is unusable
Overall it works well. Both Alexa and the Leviton app originally worked consistently to control it. My problem is that it is not very energy efficient (even when switching the light off). The switch is noticeably warm to the touch. It is about 20 degrees above the ambient room temperature.PROSI really like the operation of it. You turn it on by pushing the top of the switch and turn it off using the bottom. This is what you naturally would expect. Some competitive switches (like TP-Link) require you to push the bottom of the switch to both turn it on and off. This design is much more intuitive. The app is nice and convenient. I was easily able to control it with our Alexa too. I just enabled the skill and it works. It's very nice. The instructions were concise but helpful too. The old switch didn't have the neutral line hooked up, so I had to add that. Without the neutral connected it will not always turn on (although it seemed to work which confused me at first). The instructions pointed this out in the troubleshooting.CONSMy main gripe is that it is not very energy efficient. The switch itself is warm. I've noticed it several times and thought it was just me. My wife even noticed too and mentioned it to me. I took some temperature measurements with a Fluke IR temperature probe (see attached image). You can see the switch is about 20 degrees warmer than the wall. In contrast, a TP-Link competitive switch is only about 8 degrees warmer. Temperatures were measured with both lights being in the off position. When on, the Leviton light is about the same. The TP-Link light is a bit warmer when on, but still not noticeably so.The warmth made me wonder how much energy it is burning all the time. I used a Keithley DMM7510 to take some current and voltage measurements and actually digitized the current waveform. Screen shots are attached. In brief, I found it consumes about 1.86 Watts (true power) regardless of whether it is on or off. I measured a TP-Link wifi switch (HS200) and found it consumes only 0.5 Watts (true power) when the switch is off. When the switch is on, the TP-Link switch is closer and 1.62 Watts.Assuming your device is off most of the time, this switch consumes more than 3 times the power of the TP-Link HS200 and is noticeably warmer. I installed one of each in my home to see which I like better. Both work very well. I like the Leviton switch better (mainly because it uses the top/bottom to turn on/off like a traditional switch). However, I plan to buy more TP-Link switches because of how inefficient and warm the Leviton switch is. I can't justify having a switch that's consuming 3 times the energy all the time even when the switch is off. If you are buying just 1, it probably doesn't matter much. I was planning to buy 8-12 of these though, so TP-Link makes more sense. If anyone is interested in the calculations, the attachments show the voltage and current to calculate apparent power. I measured the power factor to be about 0.4 which allows me to calculate the real power number (1.86 Watts). I performed the same measurements on the TP-Link switch using the same equipment under the same conditions (I even retested them side by side).
